I've got to say after watching some of your livestreams, that eventhough I really like the set up of multiple cameras during livestream, these handheld camera pre-recorded batreps are the best. They also retain watching value, whereas the livestreams are less fun to watch when they are not live. Also I think that fantasy batreps for standard size games are best at around 60-90 minutes length. I watch the games for the games, it feels as if the livestreams are a less good batrep, and a less good pod/talk. Also, thanks for producing fantasy batreps.
That is why i continue to do both. But with out the live streams there would be no handheld games. The live streams pay for the production of all the videos.
This is the first time I've watched you guys and I really enjoyed the video. Watching this reminded me of the battle reports in the old school monthly white dwarfs. Really looking forward to watching more of your content.
I never played warhammer or read any rules. But still those videos are really cool and understandable. Thansk for all the clarification during the actions
Guys, I had to go check the rulebook cos I was thrown off. But channeling dice is 1d6 per wizard, not wizard level. Unless this was in some errata I missed... I'm new here but I'm loving it. Can't wait for Oldhammer to bring back these times.
That unit on the left in cc you moved through the waagh spell could not be moved into combat as you moved them twice and the spell says you cannot move a unit more than once per magic phase. Not sure if that was changed after this video or before it.
@@MountainMiniatures Yeah I'm just pointing it out, I know in the MWG days you guys would ask for rules corrections/clarifications. I guess it didn't ultimately matter but I was surprised by that spell which made me look it up. Not trying to "Well Actually" you, just mentioning it because I could see it being used by like Savage Orc Bigun's breaking through an enemy line in other games theoretically and completely turning the game around.
please read the animosity rule. on a 2-5 roll: "If it is possible to do so, the unit must declare a charge against the closest enemy unit in the Charge sub-phase. If the unit is unable to declare a charge, then a rowdy squabble breaks out and the unit may not move in the Movement phase, cast spells nor shoot this turn." Your pigs would have gotten in to combat regardless of animosity. if you can charge, animosity is not a big deal! You rolled too much 1´s on your after made charge animosity tests, so i had to let you know this. only a double 1 may prevent charges!
Hello guys, one quick question. can you give me the size of your Warhammer fantasy table? Cause i am going to build one next week and i wouldn't do it without asking you first for the right dimensions!. Thank you
we use a 73inch x 49 inch table. Its a 6x4 foot table with and added inch of of woos stapled all around to give a little bit of a buffer for the table ledges. THis was a 6x4 Table war mat fits nicely
No one has explained adequately why you guys refuse to do Ninth age content you seem to be real opposed to it but I can’t understand why you’re using Warhammer armies project and that’s fucking laughable it’s you might as well just play seventh edition or eighth edition again because it makes no sense whatsoever where a lot of these rules gonna take him to it’s just an attempt at excusing GW’s laziness
Actually i have. Many times. I would have again for you, but after reading this comment i feel like it would take to long to explain in a manner that you would understand.
@@MountainMiniatures I’m sorry, are you insinuating some lack of understanding on my behalf? Cause I have only ever seen you get worked up and get angry when ninth age is brought up, and I’m certainly not scrolling your comments. But I have asked for ninth age a dozen times and this is the first response. Please explain why and how reading this comment informed your belief I wouldn’t grasp your incredible rational for a half baked form of a game with zero support and no attempt at balance. Maybe if you could play a game without community support that would be something, but you usually just revert to 8th addition assumptions and get cross eyed when chat tells you you’re wrong . And none of that really matters cause the game is fundamentally broken and even trying to chase the rules around dosnt ever finish with a satisfactory result. You go right ahead and believe it’s my inability to fathom the rules to more than one system , WAP is just as dumb as fantasy used to be, without even the slightest concern for balance . Matt ward might as well have written half the books for these as well, never talking to anyone else involved in the process .
Hey guys I really love your content. I must say though that this format is by FAR the most enjoyable. You let yourselves be way too distracted by the chat when live sorry to say. Maybe in the future, you can do check up on chat like once a round, so you still interact with people but don't get too distracted? Love ya. Edit: And by round I mean after movement, magic, shooting and combat not just once pr. turn.
Yeah I really enjoy the banter during set up but watching reports like this just show how better the flow of the video is I you concentrate on the battle.
I think von Clausewitz (a german general) also wrote a well respected book about military. Just not sure what technology he focused on (I think cavalry had something to do with it but not sure if it was pro or against it)
@@6666Imperator He did indeed - 'Vom Kriege'. It's mostly strategic rather than tactical, though. There are useful notions to apply to wargaming (economy of force, center of gravity, point of decision), but in the main it's probably not extremely helpful. But what do I know? :p
During the *Great Nordic war* the tactic to I fire at short range was implemented by the Swedish army (probably by others as well). It meant that a unit would advance being in firing range of the enemy, running until it was possible to glimpse the white in the targets eye and release the volley. It was used to great effect giving devastating casualties to the enemy and can now be implemented in WAP through “quick to fire” 😊 History is horrible and fantastic at the same time…
Loving the WAP content, please keep it coming! Also, this format for your battlereps is more enjoyable than the longer ones. The chat distracts you guys way too much and the videos become too long. The chat is nice since they help you catch rule mistakes but that isn't enough to justify vids that are more than 3 hours.
I just want to say that you need to reread the animosity table. A result of 2 to 5 means you have to declare a charge against the nearest enemy unit. Only if no unit is legally chargeable the unit does nothing. That means that your Boarboys would have charged the archers even though they failed their test.
Comet starts with one marker, so it would have been str 5 and 13 hits. Also "first round of combat" bonuses do not get applied again when you're in an ongoing combat and you're charged. Also, why you miscast orcs roll a their own miscast table.
Choppa not allowed to parry is dumb, orcs are maybe not supposed to be sutble but man not having parry hurt. It would need to change choppas for a +1 strength anytime instead of just the first round of combat at least.
You need to use the heaven ore attribute. After thunder bolt went off, you could have rolled a 4+ and changed one of the “ones” so you didn’t miscast or change the to hit roll
I have close to no clue how this game works but its easy to follow what's going on when you folks are playing it. That being said, I do prefer the chopped down and edited ones more than the raw stream
i am sorry but anyone who thought 2d6 Waaagh and getting in to combat was fair needs to rethink what he is doing since getting two charge phases is BROKEN 1d6 and getting in to combat i understand or 2d6 and not getting into combat
This was a ridiculously close game. This edition still feels like a BSB is an auto include for armies with lots of combat units. There had to be at least 4-5 tests passed with the reroll.
I have no idea about the rules anymore, haven't played in like 20 years, so it's hilarious seeing all the dice and words being thrown around. But I know the basics, so I feel a bit like a layman watching chessmasters play speedchess.
