My dad as a fan of Blind Guardian, Stratovarius and Iron Savior would so much love Orden Ogan. I wish I could tell him about your band, but it's too late. Rest in peace, dad...I'll tell you when I'm on the other side, too.
All right, so, I absolutely love this song, every single second of it. But looking through the comments, I feel the need to share some of my thoughts. Yes, it's a song about suicide. No, it's not supposed to make you want to do it, romanticize it, make a joke of it. If it does, PLEASE, for your own sake, or for the sake of those around you, GO FIND SOME HELP. It's supposed to make you think, make you try to understand what depression is, what a person suffering from it is going through, as opposed to just dismissing it with "you've got nothing to be depressed about", "people in Africa have it worse", "just stop being sad" or what have you. Make you think what's going on in their heads to make "you and me and the eternal night" sound appealing. At least that's what the song did to me. Yes, it's dark, because depression is pretty damn dark and a song touching it has to be. Anyway, I hope I don't sound like too much of an "armchair expert" here.
Przemek Zender it's just a story... we were introduced to the gun man, then fields of sorrow where he watched the love of his life die, now a female voice entices him to come to other side.
I feel like people are reading too much into it. Orden Ogan are pretty good at making "depressing" power metal, songs that have a very sad/dark content despite the uplifting sound. After all, most of the songs are about Allister Vale who is cursed with immortality and everything he cares about dies, burns to the ground, etc. It's fictional.
Beavis emoji here right this is another piece of the concept album they are releasing where this songs story makes sense if you have heard the other two they released. it's a fictional story told through music lol
I believe you're wrong. It's about the soul business, and this war is for real. Everything is correct here, except that when you reach the other side you're trapped in hell.
I'm in a similar boat. I've only been listening for a couple of months, and I'm so stoked about the new album. I usually find bands after they've broken up or their only good album got me interested.
Duncan Hatert I listen almost exclusively to metal. I prefer the more melodic subgenres these days (melodeath for life), and this band is my latest obsession. 😁
Duncan Hatert Yep! I actually incorporated a Mjölnir medallion into a recent chainmail project that I made for a DIY video, and then declared my love for Amon Amarth. It was a good day. 😆
this has to be THE best metal music video i've ever seen, the shots are beautiful, its well put together, the cgi bits like the heart are amazing, the video fits in perfectly to the music, AMAZING!!
Having depression and anxiety myself I know it's rough to talk about. Great song and like all metal helps me feel better. If you're contimplating suicide know your not alone please seek help. Like the suicide prevention hotline.
there is lot of underground metal have a solid and good lyrics to fight against depression, but sadly corporate only showing us specific metal genre into the mainstream audience for political reasons.
Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide You're wrong I'll be your bonfire Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide You're wrong I can see my grin in the reflection of the blade And feel confidence and joy cause the decision now is made The steel is cold and bring a stream over my skin Open up this empty shell and free the icebound soul within Why don't you Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide You're wrong Come with me I will guide the way Your whole life Led to this day Come with me Let me be your light Just you and me and the eternal night Why don't you Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide You're wrong I'll be your bonfire Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind In the darkness I'll be your light I'll be your bonfire Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide You're wrong Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind In the darkness I'll be your light You'll find me in the night Just follow the light I'll be your bonfire
Thanks for this music, it is truly amazing. You guys are unbelievably different, never in my life i’ve used a full album in a playlist, but wasn’t able to leave a single music behind. This one, for me, is the best one.
I don't know, it's quite close to a power ballad imo, because of the slower, softer vocals. Pacing is too fast for a ballad though. But who cares, it's good music.
Actually, that is a very tragic event from the dark tower book series, where the love of his life is burned on a bonfire and he almost follows her into another world (not suicide, but through a portal). This whole album is based on the Dark Tower book series.
OGAN continue to kick aaaaassssss, long may they bang, i been a fan since the debut of VALE and they continue to impress as a stand out in the genre, they have at this point taken over
In this trying times songs like this keeps me going and makes me hope for the best. After years of depression and a bit of heals this is what I need. Thanks so much!
Getting a tattoo of this song's chorus on my back but changing the lyrics a bit: Come with me to the other side Leave the pain of this world behind For whatever you will decide I will be your guide
I was listening to my Rock playlist on Spotify when it came to the bottom and changed to recommended songs, and this beauty came on :O OMFG it's amazing, I have been searching for music like this, absolutely beautiful
Eldenar Mortem this song is not encouraging suizide or anything... it raises awareness of what a big temptation it can be to someone with depression... Or at least thats what it did to me... showrd me how tempting it is... but after all it is dark and NOT an exit
Just need to think you're own head and not to do what to do to you say other people. Its you're life, live it how you want, but dont hurt anyone. You should do only your decisions.
In my eyes it's more like someone coming to you in your darkest moment, offering their help - to be your bonfire to light up the darkness and lead you to a new world free of the pain that drove you to those dark depths to begin with.
