I love this guy, he is a what youtube was about, just a guy sharing with us his thoughts on food in his country. He's charismatic, funny, and makes great content.
Yes. The looks he gets. It’s like people are looking at massive human stinkbomb. If The word gross was a person that would be Danny. Gotta love the guy.
A lot of chippies these days tend not to colour the chips enough so they end up looking anaemic without much taste. You wouldn’t do it to your roast spuds would you because that’s where the flavour and crispness comes from. It’s definitely rare to find a chippy that cooks the humble spud in the right manner.
Danny you don't realise how much you cheer me up. Stuff like "hold on mate you can have some in a minute" when talking to a fly just makes me laugh uncontrollably 😂
Love your videos and interaction with the locals. I have a confession: I go to Google Earth to see where you are and to see the surrounding neighborhoods. Very interesting places you go to. Keep up the good work! Thank you.
I love this channel, one tip though.....the camera is too far away. Zoom in on him and the food as close as possible and leave it, and the audience will have a better experience. Absolutely fabulous show though, just want to see the foooood;)
He gave you free curry sauce and you complain! You cant tell the difference between corned beef and cheese? Never mind cover everything in gravy. Time to give up mate.
Danny never been in Hartlepool at home and in the many excellent chippy's I've tried the new season potatoes just don't want to go brown, love you back home
hiya dan, not far from where u had yer fish n chips and parmo in seaton carew, is a town called stockton on tees, here we have an estate called roseworth with a chippy called 'the cod father', its postcode is ts19 9bx, the owner is called paul and he does a wicked fish with free chips, the batter is to die for, i thought while ur in the area u could give it a go, u won't be disappointed......stay safe dan
Wont be rushing to Hartlepool anytime soon. Need to block people who suggest takeaway shops that their niche is piling a pizza box full of average beige food haha!!!
My brother married a lass from down Kent and then left her a few month later cos she wor an handful, and he complained that everything down there seemed to cost a fortune
Get yourself down to papas fish and chips in Hull, the family box is value for money, or even down to the food stalls at Hull fair which opens today for 1 week.
I always find it interesting how in the UK an hour drive is a road trip but in the US that’s a drive across town. I have a friend from York and they said a six hour round trip American is definitely an overnight trip in the UK and since I’ve made other acquaintances from the Uk and they agreed
Friendly warning, watch out for seagulls when eating outdoors. Whenever you are near rivers or the sea. You will get seagulls. Seagulls have your food off you.
We live in middle of Texas. Today, we had a fish and chips food truck and it was Excellent. Probably not your standards, but for here...amazing. I thought about you the whole lunch! You would have approved of chips. I loved every thing.
I like the fact that the cashier was standing at the cash box, taking the order with a spatula in hand. I could imagine spongebob standing at the register with spatula in hand while squidward had the day off, lol.
It looks passable but how anyone could put gravy on fish is beyond me. On the chips yes, but I would never put gravy on fish. Tartar sauce or parsley sauce goes well on fish.
Seaside fish and chips are always terrible.the best for chips done in dripping and the fish was a little hut on Halifax road Keighley unfortunately it's no longer there now but that guy new how to run a proppa old school fish and chips shop all the best Danny.... towers 😊
Todays and yesterdays videos, both places are actually in Seaton Carew, not Hartlepool. And the chippy across the road was the better one too. I used to get my lunches from both of these, todays one, and the one over the road. Mind, that was over 20 years ago. Brilliant to see they are still in business.
I feel like these reviews are pretty meh…in all honesty! There’s nothing unique about it. I much prefer ones that are a bit quirky, or have their own unique selling points that make them stand out, something you can’t get everywhere!
@@adamsmith583 "If I'm being honest, it's a bit undercooked but that's just my personal taste and some of you might really like it. It's skin on though which is how I like 'em. Now, let's try it with this gravy.....oooh, you know what? That's a bit of me that is."
Glady’s is worth a visit, 40’s style cafe set during the war and beautiful food as well. Hartlepool is not called British West Hartlepool for a reason😛
Hi Danny, another great review. The fish looked great and the battered sausage. Not sure on chips 🍟 like you. But price is bang on! Keep em coming mate ❤
I always have a rule never to eat anywhere where they don’t wear a uniform or at least an apron because if they’re not bothered about getting their own clothes dirty they won’t be bothered about food hygiene.
bit judgemental really although I completely see your point the hygiene rating does exist for a reason. I’ve only worked at 1 place with a typical uniform as it was a chain pub but most places will just say wear plain black or dark clothes which quite often will be clothes u only wear for work, probably the case at this place
That’s stupid, place I used to work at was an independent deli and didn’t have uniform because it wasn’t meant to look like some sort of warehouse where your food was going down a processing line. Was great food and very hygienic.
Not sure I'd go that far, it looked like a pretty middle of the road chippy though. Not great but not awful. Can't argue with the value for money though, that would easily fill 4 people!
Bad memories of East West Spice in Greenock Scotland from last year comes to mind. How did Danny come to 9/10 for this fried up mess in a box. Looks gross!
Chunks was the best chippy in town beef dripping they used food was outstanding , shame they closed down few months back it was the location, if they where up on seaton front, would of ben a diamond mine for them..
