Thank you so much for your entire channel; you are getting me through making the decision as to whether or not to place the order. My husband doesn’t want it really, probably because he usually drives our “main” car, which is our 2020 Civic Si; I drive our 2011 Hyundai Elantra or our 2001 Saab 9-3 Viggen convertible (my preference by far but it’s waiting to get some work done on it, and there’s a long wait at the only shop in my area that’ll touch it). Because we have other cars available to use while we wait, we are clearly far more flexible as far as delivery date than many other people are, but I’ve been begging him to allow us to make a decision and go ahead and buy it because it’s currently March 2022, and I’m getting an estimated delivery date of May 2022, and it’s currently 13 March 2022, for the vehicle I’m hoping to buy. Thank you so much for being so helpful and detailed with your videos of the process and accessories and everything else!!

Ordered my base M3 RWD on Friday, Jan 20. Three days later had the VIN, Motor Vehicle Order, and a delivery date between Feb 1 to Feb 7th. Amazed at the speed. Doing it all online (Tesla can't sell in my state) completely suks though.

I’m so glad I stumbled across this video! I ordered a Model S LR in like October. Originally I had financing on my account and my delivery date got pushed back. Last week I was messing around and changed my financing to cash and within a day it locked to where I cannot change it and my delivery date got pushed up to April!

I ordered 2 weeks ago and the EDD was July 5th to Aug 4th and in one week it moved to June 6th to July 4th. I purchased a 2022 Model 3 Performance in Red and White interior. My credit sucks like it’s a 705 to 719 but I applied for Tesla financing and I got approved!! Maybe it helped that I’m putting down $55,000 cash. I could pay the entire car in cash but I want to build better credit and pay it off in 3 months to show that I can pay a car loan off and tell FICO score people to go POUND SAND!! If my car doesn’t come by June 6th then I’m going to have to go to BMW and buy a 2022 M3 Competition X Drive because I hate waiting more than anything. Patience is not something I have for buying a car or waiting in traffic. Great video by the way!!

It’s definitely Because of your down payment not saying you wouldn’t be approved otherwise but at that point the bank only is risking 10% of the value of the car but yet has a lien on the entire value of the car they would have no issue selling your vehicle and recouping the difference. Also, Just so you know only Making three car payments won’t really affect your credit Much or at all. They want to see longevity it is easy to pay something for three months if you can’t really afford it (again not saying you can’t afford it)

@@Tyluh608 Update: I got the Tesla on June 17th and I really like the car. I paid for it in 3 weeks. US Bank actually sent me letter saying that they could not approve me. The car came out to $74,300 OTD. But now I own it in full and I am happy as can be. Unfortunately I look at Instagram and I see so many guys spending $20 to $40,000 grand more than I did and they still add wheels to stand out, spend a ton of money on engine modifications, paint protection and on and on…… Plus gas costs about $6.50 to $7.25 here in Southern California which drives me insane. I had no idea how many people talk shit about Tesla’s and they hate on the cars saying it’s a damn fast golf cart with no spirit, no class. I understand many people are competitive to the core and talking smack about Elon and electric cars and how ugly they are is the only thing they can say about Teslas. I am learning to ignore them now because that shit will get under your skin if you allow it to take up space in your head. Have I thought about getting a BMW? Yes but I’m happy and looking back and second guessing my decision to buy a 2022 Tesla is a waste of time and unnecessary. Sorry I’ve talked and said way too much. I’m sure you weren’t expecting all this chit chat from someone you don’t even know. Anyway, thanks for reading and have a good weekend!!

Do not apply for financing until you come up to within 30 days of estimated delivery date. If you’re months out there is no sense of applying for the loan. But don’t wait until days up to the date. They won’t start production and give a VIN until you actually complete the finance/lease section or the date will keep getting pushed out.

That’s not entirely correct, I’ve had two M3 VINs assigned to me before I had my credit application in, one in November and one early March (I just did the approval today for our order coming in May) - I rejected both of those earlier ones because we weren’t ready, but they can def assign you a VIN before financing is in, and without a choice selected for cash / finance.

We ordered a LR Model Y September 1 and have a delivery range Jan 24-Feb 21. Still have not had contact from an advisor. I did get the “Welcome to the Tesla Family” email immediately after the order was placed but that’s all the contact I’ve had. I have completed everything that I can at this point until I get a VIN. I’m 200 miles from delivery center so have not dropped by to talk to a human, yet.

Re: SAs - My EDD (MYLR) isn't until June-July and all my texts from them have been from a "team" not one person (yet?). They wrote "this is the delivery team and is monitored by multiple people". Not sure if that's unique to my delivery location or because I'm so far out from delivery. Hopefully at some point it'll switch to one specific contact person...

I ordered my model 3 performance on February 26 and when I ordered it the Edd said EDD:march and it only updated once from may 23 - june 20 and now April 17 - May 15 and it hasnt updated since march 3 also I didn't get a text message from anyone idk if that's a bad thing or I have to wait till I get my car to get a text from them.

I ordered a SLR in September 21. Didn’t know and applied for Tesla’s loan. Welllllll in the meantime we BOUGHT A HOUSE! Ha! So things changed big time for my credit. Originally my EDD was April 22. Love and behold, I get a notice early February that my Model S is ready! Argh! Noooo I wasn’t ready. I had to find someone to finance me with a new $600k loan now in my name. I wrote Tesla and they kindly put me back in line and gave me a new EDD of mid to late May-June. Well now my financing expires April 9th. 😂 I’m positive it’ll all work out but what a roller coaster. Bruh! So back in October 2021 I had placed an order for a MY and selected the financing option. However, I did mess up by applying for the loan same day when my delivery would’ve been for April. Sure enough 2 months later my pre approval was expired and immediately had to contact Tesla to switch my payment method since my order had been put on hold due to the pre approval expired. Now I’m still waiting for my MY that says it should arrive sometime March (God willing lol). Recently, the dates have been switching from September to March. Tesla estimated delivery times can get frustrating since the timeline isn’t always exact and understand these cars are high in demand. The representative did mention sometimes the app isn’t always accurate and fluctuates and it’s always best to call in to see what they can look up. They also mentioned my delivery shouldnt be that far out from September and is looking to be sometime March. Then again. Idk 🙃🤧 Will update once March comes around tho 🙏🏼

Ok so I applied for financing and got approved but my estimated delivery isn’t until July-sep. I accepted the terms of the loan application but you said it expired in 60 days. Will I have to apply again and have my credit ran once it passes 60 days?

Getting taxes rolled into your loan depends on the state you purchase your Tesla in. For example, California does allow taxes to roll into the loan and I am financing with Tesla Financing LLC, however in Texas you cannot roll your taxes into the loan. So it depends on the state.

@@Samsungkkim Yes I bought it in California, I live in San Diego. Why is it so hard to believe, do you need to see my sales contract? If you ordered the tesla it will show you right in the app the loan terms you were approved for and what the monthly is. Taxes are very clearly added to the final price of the vehicle and then it takes that total , subtracts your down payment or trade in and calculates your monthly payment. It's all there on the financing tab of the app. You can also call Tesla and they can confirm for you that taxes can be added to the loan.

I’m waiting for my grey (free rn too) Model 3 Long Range. My 2012 Corolla that I drove for ~10 years just died last week. So, I hope it doesn’t get delayed a lot. It says Feb 15 - Mar 15, thankfully the LR with my configuration isn’t a long wait. I ordered it in December, so it’ll end up being about 3 months. I hope it comes soon I’m driving a work van lol. I also already applied and accepted a loan offer (I’m going to pay it off early, so the interest doesn’t bother me, but I wanted the flexibility to decide when). I hope the loan offer doesn’t expire by the time it comes, I have until March something for that. I was stupid and didn’t think about that until after applying. Has anyone had that happen? If it comes when it says, it will be fine.

I’ve had two VINs assigned without any delivery tasks completed. They get very noisy within a couple days, and only give you a few to complete them all, but it is definitely a real order and you can get VINs assigned, for sure.

That's just because they come with all the software upgrades (FSD, Acceleration Boost) but those can be removed once you put the order in. Which will bring the price back down to normal.

$250 lost. However it shouldn’t be a reason you don’t get approved. If your credit is super low a bank might just require you put down a crazy high amount.

The $250 is a separate charge for "Order Fee" and does not get applied towards the price of the car. At least that's how it shows in my purchase overview.

Yes it’s taken off because it’s already paid during reservation but my understanding is that it doesn’t go towards the base price of the car only towards the reservation fee.

Be warned do not buy a Tesla the company’s after service is disgraceful, my car has been sat on my drive since February due to Part shortages and all Tesla has said is it is out of their control. Terrible customer service, do yourself a favour and stay away from this company.
