In the anime it's explained as the Queen can send her memories back in time to her past self and can do so for other people as well and to the selves receiving the memories it would be as if they had lived that time themselves. It's been a while but I believe she's done this many times before with her marriage and eventually settled on the current king for various reasons among which was he was the only one with whom she ever managed to have a child...

@@notnotalwen4891 True! We, in modern world, are absolutely not used to the complete lack of spices and condiments, a norm for mediaeval peasant. Also, to be fair, when I was a super strict diet, out of curiosity I stpped using ANY spices, including salt, except where it was required for chemical reaction that made the food in the first place. Soon, as in weeks in, I could taste minute differences in vegetables and meat and started preparing them much more carefully and started really caring about food quality. I also spent way more on them. I returned to using spices (couldn't live without capsaicin), but still use way less of them. But I'm still about the meta: do isekai writer are really paid crap so they dream of food and start writing only about it, or suddenly they get paid enough so they can afford more than cheapest ramen and egg once a week and are so excited to uncover new world they can't stop sharing it?

Definitely recommend reading the light novels if you like the story. It's more in depth and detailed than the anime, and it's probably gonna be a while before any more novels are adapted. That said, I do feel like the quality drops, or maybe the focus changes, in the last third or so of the light novel volumes. It's been a while, but maybe it's time to re-read the series.
