Professor Jackson makes mineral geology so interesting and understandable.

Hey friends. These videos are awesome. Try a 1.25 playback speed. Not to remove the information but feels a bit more like a conversion than a lecture.

The economics of Stillwater have changed in the last few years with palladium's rise versus platinum.

Thank you Andrew. Fascinating. Wish there were pdf copies available. I'm wondering what changes there will be in platinum as a result of the issues in South Africa.

I also found a meteor, I think the metals are magnetic and attract so makes sense to me.

I wonder if Mr. Jackson could comment on Wyoming PGE potential or any of you geologists out there. I have read Medicine Bow Range was first place to produce platinum in the U S. But that the amounts would not even make a foot note. A productive geologist who did valuable exploration research in Wyoming observed that potentially valuable reserves of minerals have been shut off from exploration and development; specifically Absarokas and Medicine Bow and Sierra Madres have turned parts of old mining zones/Districts that have significant value into Wilderness Areas. Is there valuable hard rock minerals worth developing or exploring for in Wyoming other than Uranium? The question is thrown out to anyone.

There absolutely is great potential you just need to do all of the footwork before you go out. Find every shred of ordinary USFS and BLM land you can in areas where Dan Hausel found most of his deposits and get to work sampling creeks and rivers. Be absolutely sure that the area you plan on going is actually accessible since many areas of public land are landlocked by private property. I highly suggest starting out in the Granite Mountains pegmatites north of Jeffrey and up into the Tin Cup Mountain area focusing on gemstones since it's easier to make money more quickly. If you want focus on gold the far western portion of the Sierra Madres all the way out to west of Baggs. If you go out without doing your footwork first I can almost promise you'll be disappointed by not being able to have access. Best of luck!
