Did you know the side comes off to clean the 2 filters and has a cute little cleaning brush? Just wanted to let ya know in case you weren't aware...great find, these things are expensive. Make sure you clean the filter at least once a month & it should last for years! Good luck ;)
+Christiangal Yes I did. I clean every two months. Sadly mine didn't come with the brush. I've been leaving it on low 24/7 for the past two months. Couldn't be happier with it.
I have a rare auto-immune disorder that is triggered by Sulphur Dioxide gas and Sulphites. Basically these chemicals cause my auto-immune system to kill my healthy cells. I recently purchased an Oreck Dual Max air purifier in Canada for $450 and it is the best purchase I have made in years. I noticed the difference in my health almost immediately. I need to buy 2 more units as today when I go to the bathroom I carry the air filter with me ... when I go to bed I carry the unit with me. I am saving to buy more units.
Hi Warren. Canadian Tire has a sale on this unit. Reg. 499$, fir only 299$ You save 200$ when you buy this unit. I want to buy one myself, for I have allergies ans asthma .. and I am a parrot lover so .. Just can't get rid of my birds for that reason. I've seen many reviews on the Truman Filter and it seems to be the type to buy these days, if you want good results. I hope you'll get the units for cheaper! I know I will. Going these tomorrow mornin' Have a good day!
Hi Dan, I saw the sale and splurged on 2 more units. I now have 3 units running on low in my 900 sq. ft. 2-bedroom home and have not felt this good in years. I live in the BC forest fire zone and this year was very bad. I noticed a lack of oxygen problem as I had sealed my home to minimize the sulphur dioxide gas (which I'm severely allergic to) that forest fires produce. To resolve this problem ... I mounted one unit in front of an open window and created a cardboard surround to block any unfiltered air from entering the house. This worked great for me and should help with your asthma. Best wishes.
You can not replace the UV light for odor...UV bulbs on avg last 9000 hrs before they are usless (still glows but usless)...in this video all lights are NOT UV...The UV light is internal and can not be seen...also you can not clean their patented catalytic converter for Odors. I know all this because I did some research plus I called oreck about all my concerns..they were not helpful at all and were very deceitful...in fact she seemed surprised that I knew the life spans of UV bulbs and about cleaning the catalytic converter..everything has to be bought via authorized dealers where infact that alone is against FDC laws...yes I looked into that too
