Diamond no Jundo is the ending song of Oregairu Season 3. The lyrics are absolutely heartbreaking.
This arrangement are based on the two ballad versions on the album. This arrangement focuses on more on polyphony and the sound quality.
In the first verse (0:17) and the pre-chorus (0:47), the right hand is split into two voices. The first three fingers of the right hand plays the lower voice, and such the main melody is played almost entirely by the 3rd to 5th fingers. It challenges your ability to control the dynamics well to bring out the main melody.
In the second verse (1:51), like many of my other arrangements, the left hand is used to play the main melody. The arpeggios in the right hand are inspired by Chopin's Winter Wind etude. Originally they were meant to be twice as fast and span two more octaves, but after considering the flow between the adjacent sections, I decided to be consistent and settle with eighth notes.
In the second chorus (2:35), I introduced sixteenth notes for the first time to build up the momentum, which eventually unleashes a barrage of notes in the right hand (3:04). The buildup of sound continues and we reach the emotional climax of the song.
