Where my family's farm was near Corvallis there was a family of Mennonites that would go to all the farms and bale the straw. There was a field near the highway they would store it all in before trucking it away. It was insane to see how many bales there would be.

Hope y’all get paid more for the straw than what it cost for fertilizer to replace it.Along with lime and other nutrients. Hopefully y’all are Side dressing with chicken manure.

@@excaliburjohndeere7657 yea the manure industry does ok here but we’ve never seen a noticeable difference in results. Just fertilizer for it. Fescues can live many years and we make the money in the grain. Straw bales are just a way of making extra money on the side.

Kpoole25 Good luck to you and yours. We are farmers from West Tennessee. We had wheat a few years back. And we bailed strips of hay. Like we would remove the straw eight rows wide and then leave the next eight rows across a highly productive 20 acre field of ours. The next year with a cotton crop you could see the strips by the way the cotton grew. It is taking away a lot of nutrients to remove the straw and the grain. And you have to replace it I’m sure that you are in balance with what you’re doing. Thanks for responding. You good looking lucky Devil you. Snowman and smoky an the bandit conversation. Big smile That’s how I talk to my friends like truck drivers
