So glad I found this today. I've loved Towner and Oregon for 40+ years; Oregon in particular was a favorite of my first wife and mine. Today is the anniversary of her birth, a date I've honored alone since her passing 30+ years ago (she was only 35); this performance brings back wonderful memories of those long-ago days. Thank you for posting it.

Wonderful memories , I met ralph amd gleen at django's record shop in 1979 in portland OR , the group played a lot at Marylhurst college in portland Music was always beyond what was around then. They introduced such a colorful sound to jazz. Now that I am 61 and far away from oregon, I still listen to them. Thx for the trip back to 45 years ago. RIP beloved collin walcott. you are missed a lot.

This footage is amazing. The quality is so crisp, just like we are flying back in time... or these cats are young again... Some of my music heroes.

I saw the original group a few times. This music meant so much to me for 49 years now and lately it seems to be even better than ever.

I saw Oregon in concert in 1978 and again in 1981. I saw Ralph Towner in a solo concert in 1981 at the Great American Music Hall. For years I would put my headphones on, start an Oregon album and lay down on the floor and just drift on their sounds. Such magical music!

Great musicians individually...but collectively, this group was beyond great.

Standing out how a concert can become a unique magical moment when both artists and audience are capable to let it happen. Amazing show, amazing band, amazing music, amazing audience and an example of confidence, shared risk, communion and beauty.

They created unique language and space of music. It will remain fantastic contribution to the history of music as a whole.

Memories of Oregon's 'Winter Light' days! This has great sound and resolution, a reminder how great (RIP) Colin Wolcott was on tabla and sitar. Ralph, Paul and Glen outstanding as always and this music is as timeless as when it was released! Saw them in various formations over the years and met Ralph in Chicago a few years ago at a solo concert at a small club. Love the 70s eurolook of the audience!

This was filmed in Norway … I saw them for the first time in 1975 in California … it was at an old biker bar called the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach … a memorable experience I remember to this day despite the “fine Colombian.” 😉 I remember there were two bouncers at the door checking ID, they looked like they could break you in half like a dry twig, but were the nicest guys … enjoyed a beer with them after the show. Ran into Colin and Paul in the men’s room after the show (after the beers) and Colin was saying to Paul, “it was something about the way she walked” lol. Good times, gone but not forgotten. RIP Colin Walcott🙏🏼

I never had the pleasure of seeing any of them live, but seeing Colin Walcott alive in their best line-up is a special treat. Though an unapologetic fan of jazz and music from Brazil, if I were pressed to assign a label to this, it might be modern 'chamber music'. 40 years in Japan now ... and with literally thousands of mostly jazz and Brazilian CDs in my collection, Oregon's 'Out of the Woods' is my go-to soundtrack when driving through the misty mountains west of Tokyo. Wonderful recording from Molde jazz 1975 with Ralph og Oregon who are probably somne of the most creative musicians and band i our time. Long life to Oregon and the music of Ralph Towner. Thank you for this video!

These are such incredible musicians, Paul's oboe is so sweet and angelic, it has that baroque tone.

Excellent quality and great performance of the original band with Collin Walcott, whom I first saw with the Paul Winter Consort and then bought all their Vanguard records as they were released and saw them a few times including opening for Gateway at the Bottom Line.

Many thanks for sharing. These people play the music which is unique and unfortunately not much known. Meanwhile they merit to be known. Personally I have never seen a video with them on stage before, so this is really a pleasure.

Thanks for sharing this great performance, Oregon was a one of a kind band, w/ a musical personality all its own. 16:16-26 - A Norwegian Rick Beato lookalike on the top right corner. Some really nice footage of mid 1970s Scandinavian youth. There to let the music take them on a journey, together. a journey to be experienced, shared, That is the 'real' purpose of good music IMO. Really cool.

This is about when I saw them a couple times in DC at the Cellar Door. Luckily they let minors in. Good times.

Absolutely stunning and wonderful. I was so lucky to see them at The Hole Coffeehouse at the University of Minnesota.

This video is of excellent quality. Not only did I not know this even existed, I didn't know Ralph Towner plays piano either.

Thank you so very much for this! The first time I saw Oregon was in 1975, at Amazingrace Coffeehouse in Evanston, Illinois (near Northwestern University) and I was absolutely mesmerized. I became a regular at Amazingrace, staying for two sets every night they played.
