Oregon's Umpqua River Smallmouth Bass Fishing Kayak Float 

Brian and I spent a day floating the Umpqua River in Oregon for Smallmouth Bass. I was using my Hobie Outback kayak and Brian was using his Santa Cruz Kayak. I caught most my smallmouth bass on a dropshot rig, but a few came from a swinging jig head tipped with a craw trailer and a couple came off my Berkley flicker shad. Fun day on the river and the Hobie Outback kayak is also a great paddle kayak in the river without the 180-degree mirage drive. There are multiple floats or sections of the river a person can do on the Umpqua River system to get into quality and quantity of smallmouth bass located right outside and within Roseburg, Oregon.
