WhErE's Ur NeT? Haha! That was a nice little wild fish and I agree - its so much better to end up with the occasional quick release of a native like in your video rather than having it tangled up in a net for five minutes. Keep em coming, fellas! loving the steelhead content this year
That's awesome! Still have yet to get a fish on a floating jig, they are starting to stack in now, I think the next 3 months are going to be pretty epic! Thanks for the awesome video again!
Im new to the bobber fishing thing usually I just drift fish or throw spinners so I'm glad you made the comment about don't overthink it because I think sometimes I do this was my first year salmon and steelhead fishing ive been unsuccessful so far but I'll keep at it and I'm sure it'll pay off
It will pay off for sure. Definitely don't over think it. But you will find yourself doing it all the time, even when you caught fish the day before on the same tackle in the same spot. Bobber fishing and spinner fishing are my go too techniques. What I can't cover with one, I can cover with the other. Learn where Steelhead hang and how to read water and you will begin to catch. Good luck
I went through a slump that lasted almost a year. Mostly skunked, tried everything, people all around me catching fish, and I'm not even getting hits. In a boat, off the bank, didn't matter. When I did hook up, I would lose them or the would wrap the line around something, or jump of the hook before I could get them in. I have been fishing over 50 years. Then one day I went to a bass pond and killed, and the slump was done. I mean my confidence level has been if there is a fish in there, I will catch it. Do you guys want to help me develop fishery a the lake I live on? It was great here until about 3 years ago when the had to drain the lake to fix a dam. Chub and catfish have taken over. You can see that they raid the bass spawning holes and the bastards eat everything. They are fun to catch, but they are garbage fish to eat. I am gonna sponsor a fishing derby that will last all summer, and get businesses to donate prizes for the most chub caught. I would like to repopulate the Largemouth and Red band's, and introduce Stripers. Have the plant some hatchery fish as well. There are some massive cats in here, but I haven't hooked any bigger than like 15''. I hate eating catfishes. I got sick of them when I lived in Clearlake. LMK, Asher knows how to get ahold of me.
Super into it..., we're both on trips right now , but should be back in action by the end of the month. we should chat about coming up with a plan to get that lake pumping out some fish again...
