Nebraska had 4 match points.. and free ball opportunities during those rallies and still couldn’t capitalize which is gutting. Hate to say it but setting was the issue during those points, don’t know why Orr wasn’t thrown in there at all or why come that 5th set Cook didn’t just say ok Nicklin it’s in your hands and let her run a 5-1 for that 5th
Cook isn't very bright. The same thing happened last year when the 5th set, they were down alot...Yet, Cook didn't change anything up when they were DOWN ALOT. He could have change the momentum by putting in Lexi Sun. Instead, he kept that Ally Batenhorst and continued to create errors. Cook chose a Freshmen over experienced Senior Lexi Sun. That coaching staff needs to be fired. FIRE COOK.
i agree with the above comment about last year during championship, Sun would have stabilized the team when batenhorst was making so many errors. But i cant say the same thing about Orr replacing hames. Orr makes so many setting mistakes...at best, her decision making is similar to hames, and shes not that much better in blocking either even though shes taller. I think its time for Cook to really seek out a new setter elsewhere... gaby blossom maybe?
@@gt-lb7qd nebraska has a freshman setter coming next year who is the #1 setter in the country and she’s played on team usa so she will probably start next year it’s the smart thing to do
Also, i love lexi, and i think her defense on hits are great, but she does not cover her hitters. There were so many balls off the block that were right by her and she didn't even try.
Kiari Robey! FOR THE FINISH!! Also can say Robey did her job defensively at the net. Can't lie on some rallies decoy skills came through by staying in sync with tempo... Made a lot of one on one's happen for her teammates.
It's funny that Nebraska had a ds and back row setter in the front row in the fourth set,, yet an overpass BUMP KILL ended it.... they both didn't attempt to block/jump OR PASS and watched the ball fall lol
There are WAYYYYY better setters out there even in Division 2 and Division 3. LOL...How did John Cook ended up with these setters on his rosters? Hames need to be a libero.
@@maleeyamecham1531 I have seen good defensive players. I will say this for Hames, she should be a libero because her defense is better than most liberos. She's actually a libero playing as a setter for no reason at all.
@@zackd2852 I'm a libero myself and I love watching Hames because she doesn't make a ton of diving, spectacular plays. She just reads the offense extremely well, so she is always in the right spot. That is honestly one of the components you look at when you are trying to find a good libero
@@Blickblickyyyblick74 I’m just guessing by your opinion that she won big ten defensive player of the year(2021), big ten defensive player of the week 3 times, and led opponents to a 128 hitting percentage all by not trying.
@@rainbowgirls8650And none of those awards would’ve came if she wasn’t playing for Nebraska 🙄 Like I said, she’s overrated. She does pass well, so I’ll give her that but very lazy on defense and can’t dig anything outside her body. And Nebraska has been leading the country in opponents hitting percentage for years. Go back to 2017/18, that’s nothing new for them.
