No wonder: music by its nature is bound to have a melodic and harmonic base, for all the discord that may prevail in our and the natural world: they increasingly do not align. To represent that discord is an admirable aim, surely done, vital, in literature, dance and theatre. Yet in music, discord, so focused on here, becomes at least troublesome, notably when or if spun for its own sake, indeed rarified, disconcerting, to say the least, because it has no verifiable context, no reference in human form or experience, no text, rather it's an abstraction. That said it may truly represent the greatest human tragedy or feeling, as in the history of Poland and her people.
