Oh sweetheart. Your feelings are totally valid and normal. Bonnie you are still dealing with a lot of raw emotions. You have been through so much in the last couple of years (you all have). I also know that people’s opinions have taken a toll too. Don’t be afraid to still feel! Stop worrying about those that aren’t worried about you. Accept that some people will never like you because your beautiful spirit irritates their demons. At the end of the day, clothes are just pieces of fabric. Nothing more. My adult daughter and I went on a cruise together this past June. We went to Italy and Greece. Left husbands at home and her kids. We had the best, best time. Love having my daughter and our beautiful relationship. Enjoy Olivia and enjoy the special bond you will always have.

You have way too many clothes and shoes. It’s time to purge, girl. Cut out at least half of them shoes. And at least a third of the clothes and you will feel so much lighter. My closet is only about a quarter the size of yours and I still have more clothes than I ever wear. We always have our favourites and we just keep washing and wearing the same clothes over and over. Half the fun of going to a special event is buying the new outfit. I have about 6 church dresses that I rotate through and when they start to look too worn I throw them away (donate to a thrift store) and buy some new ones. I don’t like to pack to many clothes when I go on vacation because I always like to buy some new things at my destination. I often find clothes that I only wore once and know that I won’t wear again so I give them away. 😊

Something I’ve learned in the last year is just how much we need to love and appreciate where we are right now and not to wish anything away. I fulfilled 2 MAJOR dreams this year and it’s been the hardest year of my life. Nothing turned out how I imagined, but yet I am grateful. I’m grateful for the lessons and am more intentional about being present now… knowing that fulfilling dreams is awesome but it’s never how we expect.
Your words ring so true! Clothes holds so many memories and emotions. I went through the same thing with my clothes making me feel bad about myself. I’m usually a silent watcher but something you said really tugged at my heart to share. When you mentioned how fun it has been having Olivia by your side helping you with your closet, reminded me of times I have done the exact same thing with my mom. Whether it was helping her clean out her closet, or handing her ingredients while she cooked for our family, the small memories truly mean so much to us kids, as I’m sure Olivia feels as well. My sweet momma is battling terminal cancer, and although she is only in her 50’s and we have only had a short time to create these memories, they leave the biggest impact. Know that you inviting Olivia to help, is truly doing so much more than it seems on the surface. You guys are creating memories that will last for years and years. 💝
I normally don’t comment but watching this video I wanted to share what I have been doing for the past year and it has been working great for me. If I buy a new article of clothing I have to get rid of an old article of clothing and the same goes with shoes. Now I have kept an organized closet with not being over loaded with clothes and shoes. By the way I love your videos and your beautiful family.
You need to do what we teach our kids... give to others. Memories are one thing and important but do you need the clothes / shoes to remember. Imagine the joy someone else will have.

Clothes really do hold memories/trauma. It is okay to have the feelings that you're having. Making those memories with Olivia is so so special, being that she's a teenager and wants to spend this time with you is really special.
I have noticed how great you look. Since Florida and seeing you outside fishing and playing with the kids, I saw how wonderful and healthy you look. From a distance you looked like a young teenage girl enjoying yourself in the beautiful sunshine of Florida. I can definitely see that eating healthy has made a huge difference for you. Its wild how this house is something you wanted forever. Your literal dream house, but with heaviness and life circumstances all these things that you planned for and prepared for don't seem to matter anymore. While I wish you all never had to endure such terrible times, it seems like a blessing in disguise to see the things that matter in life so clearly and without any doubt.
Bonnie - I think it's normal to feel some type of way about clothes that no longer serve you the way they once did. Clothing/fashion is mood dependent and it's totally fine to completely redo your wardrobe when you don't feel great about the items you have. Also, an idea for one of the empty drawers in your closet - I always keep a dresser drawer empty for items that I want to gift/regift to family/friends.
Just a suggestion….If you hang your pants with skirt/pants hangers from the waist you can hang twice as many. Love your closet. Be proud of it. So feminine. So elegant.
I am in my late twenties and balancing buying and getting rid of clothing is still a difficult adjustment after childhood. Growing up we are so used to getting new clothes all of the time, because you grow out of them. But now I have been about the same size and weight since I was 15. I really don't like getting rid of clothes that are still in good shape, because it's both wasteful of material and of money. However, my personality and life has changed and so half of my closet is filled with things that I don't feel my best in anymore. I don't have the closet space to keep it all, so it really is a conscious battle every time I want to buy something! It's hard!
Hi Bonnie! It really sounds like it’s time for “out with the old and in with the new.” I’m in a similar situation where I’m going through my belongings and donating the things that bring me any type of negative emotion. You need to give yourself permission to let go of the clothing items that don’t make you truly happy. The past is the past. It’s what you make of the future that counts. I totally feel what you mean! Back when my kids were little and we were struggling was the happiest I’ve ever been! Money/things hasn’t brought us any more happiness! Also pant hangers help sooo much!!!
Your feels are so valid. I have felt the same when it comes to wearing clothes. My weight fluctuates. Some days I might feel great in an outfit then another day same outfit not so great. Bonnie, you control your emotions, don't let them control you. All of the beautiful items that no longer fit, can still give you joy, if you think of it as passing them along to someone else to enjoy now. Plus, if you ever need a special dress for an event, think of how much fun shopping for a new one will be. Your clothes is beautiful, but your journey to feeling good about you is even more beautiful. Remember, these are all teachable moments... for you, for your children and us your viewers.

Bonnie, so many people feel the same way that you do. Some say that it’s like 2020 shifted us into a different world. There are sooo many things that we would do that brought family fun and weekend activities, even going to the mall every weekend was a fun thing that people did. Not anymore!! The malls are deserted now. I became a empty nester last year, my kids all live hours away now, my husband works away from home and commutes in the weekends, as if recent I’m having to be caretaker to my toxic mom. I feel so trapped and no joy in my life but watching your family and siblings videos and some other vloggers. My life is upside down! I miss the times that are now gone. Find the joy in your kids and the memories you all make together. They will be grown and ready to move out before you know it!! ❤❤❤

What you were doing with Olivia is called body doubling. Having her there with you helped you move through the emotions you were having without getting stuck. The emotions tied to your clothing are perfectly fine to have and probably a good release for you. Thank you for showing your honest emotions with us. 💞

The stuff you'll never wear again...lay it on the floor, all laid out. Take a picture of it. Fold it and put it in a big black bag. When the bag is full, take it to DI and leave it!

Bonnie, try placing your caps on a large tray that fits inside the cubby, this way you can pull out the whole tray and pick your cap and then placing it back without dropping them all trying to pull one out.
Hi Bonnie, I personally would suggest you to separate outside clothing from inside clothing. What I mean with this is that I personally think it is super useful to have a separate closet for jackets and such because they just take sooo much space.

Bonnie I once had a very pretty pair of black sandals with heels and I hated to get rid of them and they eventually rotted away and I mean ROTTED. I learned not to do that and now I take them to our Salvation Army Store (thrift) so that someone else can make use of them since I do not wear or need them any longer. I feel very good about that, because I know someone else needs clothing and am helping them out. Try the donation route, I have never regretted doing that. It is a very good feeling.
Guuurrrlll! Mercy, I 1000% feel you on the shoes dilemma! Give them to Olivia! Lucky for me, my Lil 30 something y.o. Princess .wears the same size shoe as I do! Since you started your closet journey with us, I decided it was a good time to clean everything out and finally only bring back to my closet the important things....Well, let's just say I stopped after taking things out, I've put NOTHING back in! I did, however, do a shoe count... So close to a 100, it's not funny! But now wearing barely 7 to 9 pairs a month...depending upon how many things we do that month! 67 pairs of pumps alone! It was after our kids were grown, was I able to "indulge" on good shoes and clothes again. There are a couple of pairs that are older than her! And a few clothes that I also kept from past lifetimes, good ones and bad ones. So I'm going to take a page from you and see if I can do better also! Wish me luck! But I think we need to visit the paint store and Lowes, as my old girl could use a new look on her walls first! Hope you have a Fantastic Week Bonnie!
That is my problem is I can't get rid of my old clothes even tho I can't fix I told myself what if I loose the weight I don't want to start over but the style has changed Since then the memories that you and your kids will have everytime they help with a project ❤ they will cherish the memory later

Lol.... your closet is maaaaybe bigger than our bedroom in our 100+ year old home. We can't open the door without hitting the bed. NO closets in this old house. Each bedroom door had a small shelf with a few hooks behind the door. I think that was All their clothing there.
