Hi I'm Kathryn!
I am a former soloist with the New York City Ballet and Miami City Ballet. When I was a young student, I was always looking for insights into the ballet world and how to improve my dancing as well as beauty and lifestyle tips. Now that I am a professional, it is my turn to share.
On my channel I make ballet, beauty, and lifestyle videos for everyone of all ages. My goal is help dancers improve and achieve their dreams as well as open up the ballet world to non dancers. Let's bring the joy back to ballet! You will see many different kinds of videos here including ballet classes, workouts, Q and A sessions, life advice, performances, beauty tutorials, technique tips, and more. Ilove your longer talking videos! Watched the old leotard collection so much I could recognize some of them. I kind of have given up on color theory because I can’t for the life of me figure out if I’m a fall or a winter 😂

I once was taking summer class with a local teacher, and some of her former pre-professional students were home and dancing with her while they looked for a new company. One of those in-between companies students went and changed leos between barre and center because the leo she had on was trendy, but was making her feel “fluffy” that day. She has upcoming auditions and didn’t have time to get in her head about her body. A leotard you feel good in is so powerful.

Love the video! I did a leotard purge last year after doing a similar challenge. I had to wear each leotard once before I could wear a repeat. I rehomed many leotards after that challenge! Love your Leo collection! Looking forward to more videos!

You are insanely honest. I am here for it!!! Great advice about how the outfit made you feel. When I showed horses, I had a favorite button down shirt with a precious moments image on the pocket. I felt great and comfortable in it. All the adults, older than I, encouraged me to change. As it was not the most mature attire for competition. I never got more consistent high scores as I did in the shirt. I have no idea the science behind it, but it is 💯 the case for performance improvement period. Audition in what makes you the happiest. Generally speaking ❤️ 🤗

OMG please make a style similar to your favorite black Suffolk leo, the one on it’s last legs. That style is lovely, I would love to have that. The long sleeve black and burgundy on the bottom looks like it would fit a lot of body types too, plus I wants lol :)

I made a vow to stop buying leotards cause they are just so darned expensive! Instead, I have learned to make my own. Cheaper and they fit. lol. Also, instead of breaking those loose threads, get out the needle and tie them off. Otherwise, they'll just keep coming out and the problem gets worse.

This is so relatable 😂 I was diagnosed with cancer and have not been able to dance this semester but this makes me miss reorganizing my leotards (perpetually). I bought, like 4 RTW and 2 custom leotards (mauves and velvets so not summer-friendly) before I was diagnosed in January and I haven't been able to wear them! So sad! I'll wear them in the fall semester though (and I'll have some time to lose this water weight I've gained thanks to chemo and the other weight from not eating so great due to feeling like trash sometimes lol).

I thought your whole leotard line was awesome, but I know I'd feel so weird wearing pink or red in class... Suggestion: turn all of your hangers' hooks the opposite direction until you wear the leo. You can see at a glance which ones you haven't worn yet.

With the recent outrageous rent increase and retirement, I decluttered 80% of career clothing and other cute fashion items. I hung up 20% for the "New Jan". Pretty much, no more cute clothing shopping.

Neat! It makes me a bit sad because my studio has a black-leotard-pink-tights dress code. Otherwise, I would be wearing tons of jewel tones (I can't wear muted colors because they wash out my very white but somehow a bit yellow skin). Maybe a tutus organization video? 🩰

Hi Kathryn! Long time fan and adult dancer. I’m currently working through your beginner/intermediate holiday barre (with the beautiful green Leo!) and your Disney center! Is there anyway you could do a video on arm placement? Would also love a jump boot camp. In terms of non-ballet things, I would love to see you do your color analysis and/ or talk about the Kibbe body type and how you style yourself based on these things. Nearly every commercially made leotard makes me feel uncomfortable. The proportions are just all wrong for my shape. So, I'm in the process of trying to perfect my own - good thing I can sew! You're so very right about that tip. Nothing worse than a bad leotard!

You can sew the lace Suffolk or take it to a seamstress to repair the areas where the threads are coming out. I do agree about the jewel tones. I was gonna comment that I felt you were more of a winter because of how great dark rich colors like burgundy and eggplant and dark greens look on you.

The color order makes me so happy inside haha. Have you ever tried the technique of flipping your hangers around and then after you wear it the hanger goes back to normal, and at the end of the season/year anything still flipped is things you didn't wear and can donate.

You should do a video where you have a specialist do a color analysis on you to find all the best colors, hues, and tones for your skin tone! Then pick leotards and skirt combinations based on the analysis. It would be a fun video.
