Watching this in 2021, it is so nice to see such a realistic level of growth from a person on the internet. Watching Garrett grow over the past two nearly three years since just this video and him discussing his difficulties in getting started and “taking himself more seriously” etc. has sincerely helped me realize how much self-improvement isn’t just immediate, but it involves long term growth and building a better space, both mentally and physically, so that one can thrive and improve over the course of a few years. It’s truly inspiring, and seeing how his and Andrew’s friendship has exponentially grown is both heartwarming and brings me hope!

You deserve to sleep in a nice bed every night, you deserve to eat good food and have a comfortable place to call home! I think people like you and I who are able to let ourselves go like this are just people dealing with some rough stuff in the brain. We trick ourselves into thinking we're not worth the effort of keeping a home, and it really just goes to show that you can't fix anything else until you can fix yourself. After sleeping on a mattress in my friend's apartment for six months I came to this realization last winter, and spent the past couple months coming to terms with what was wrong and how I could help myself. I spent a lot of time with my family recovering, started applying to schools again, and did a lot of research on how to deal with depression. Also I re-read the entire HP series this summer, which I'm convinced is another reason I'm doing so much better. I'm happier than I've been in a long time! And the best part is, I've moved to the city again with my best friend and now we have beautiful apartments and lots of happy days. I seriously have been there, too, and I know how hard it can be to get back on track once you've let yourself go. But you can do it! You've got amazing friends who will be so happy to see you happy, and an entire support system here on the internet too. Love u so much
