Especially since she is putting it into a glass container which I believe, because of the UV rays, cause reacts with something in the toothpaste and doesn’t clean them any more, but I could be wrong.
Putting toothpaste in a glass jar with a hand pump rather than keep the tube and use one of the many inventions designed specifically for getting every last drop boggles my mind. NOT EVEN A LABEL!! Some poor guest in that house is gonna try washing their hands only to get covered in toothpaste.
Idk why in America they don't sell packaging in bulk. Here we have detergents and softeners in refill bag of 2.5l if we want to use that much. Then it makes sense tranferring it to a bottle. But transferring bottle to bottle is incredibly wasteful
And the things like softeners don't even make sense because the bottles with pumps or a tap need to be put into a cap first, at which point you're just making work for yourself.
Um, they do. We actually have a ton of stores devoted only to bulk products. I personally prefer to decant into more manageable bottle sizes. Sometimes it’s by buying a special bottle. Other times I buy a one off “single use” size, and I refill that. Think body washes and such. The massive bulk bottles can’t fit in the shower. That said, yeah some of this is seriously wasteful. Like the scent boosting laundry things. Those are so easy to buy in bulk, but in a lot of these videos they’re going from standard size to pretty standard size packaging.
My only complaint, or maybe a better word is of caution...if you are going to decant something food related be sure that the container is made for holding food items otherwise you risk having plastics not designed to protect the item or risk spoiling the product. I also consistently see that soap bottles are used for syrups which is not ideal as the plastic / metal pieces are not for foods/liquids. Or sometimes a container is dark to prevent the sun from spoiling products. Just something to be mindful of.
I agree that they need to be careful but most closed containers are meant for food like chips and cereal but the toothpaste freaks me out. Also for the syrups, those are syrup containers and oil bottles
Please don't do the toothpaste thing...most toothpaste has fluoride in it that helps to protect the teeth, fluoride looses it's property under light...that is why it comes in a tube which prevents light... stop wasting things in the name of aesthetics.
Imagine a guest goes to their house and has to use the bathroom. Then they use that soap dispenser which has TOOTHPASTE in it just imagine that person thinking why is the soap so weird
I know some of these can be wasteful, but being able to see everything in clear containers is super helpful for me. My ADHD makes it so that I forget what I can’t see out in the open, so this would cut down on food waste a ton. As long as you’re recycling the packaging immediately it should be okay. The toothpaste thing was super dumb though omfg
literally same. if i dont see something, it doesnt exist. ADHD can be more manageable with clear containers. but that toothpaste one was painful, she didnt even use up all the toothpaste in each tube lmao
I personally wouldn’t do this for adhd, because you have to store the leftovers somewhere too…then you might run out and buy more forgetting where the other ones were, then have double the leftovers, and you’d just be duplicating or tripling the number of containers in your home.. and oh my god that’s so overwhelming just thinking about the cluttered and forgotten stashes everywhere 😭 nah. Plus that’s so much time of your life used on something so superfluous and kinda frivolous imo when you could be actually living instead..
@@phaneron what if you just like organizing stuff and don’t mind a bit of extra effort 😭 I’d rather have it nicely organized in something more comfortable to me tbh
I don't care what anyone says, I like myself an organized fridge where I can find what I need. My fridge is a mess no matter how many times I reorganize it. I need these dividers to let my family know where each thing goes. Otherwise, food is always lost at the back, rotting and forgotten, or we buy more than we need simply because we didn't see it. I want a more organized fridge
right! and having the clear bottles and containers is not just for aesthetic as some people might say. its just so much easier to see. i don't understand why people feel the need to comment such negativity if they disagree but i think its a great idea. :)
We never waste any food. You really don't need all of this plastic. Just have a leftover night and eat whatever is left at end of week...it teaches kids to use their resources.
I thought that it was highly discouraged to transfer cleaning products from their original containers. The original containers contain the instructions for proper use and storage, as well as emergency information on what to do if the products are ingested, spilled on the skin, or get in the eyes. Certain products are sold in specific containers for a reason. Olive oil is usually sold in dark bottles because clear bottles expose the oil to light, which degrades its quality. Cleaning products are packaged in containers that won't break down due to the ingredients in the products. And putting everything in clean, pretty containers is downright dangerous if you have small children, as some products can look like candy. A jar of Downey Unstoppables looks the same as the jar of candy in the kitchen to a young child...and it's confusing for them if edible and non-edible products are stored in the same easy-to-open aesthetically pleasing containers.
Your right and the brands that make those products have put out disclaimers to say that the products shouldn’t be transferred into other containers because then you loose the safety information, also many cleaning products come in childsafe packaging that has been tested over and over to make sure children can’t access the cleaning products inside
"Why'd she empty the toothpaste tube," She clearly didn't empty those toothpaste tubes lol. She wasted soooo much toothpaste that was left over just for it to not be usable because she put it in a clear, hand soap dispenser with no label
Year your supposed to cut and wash them before you eat them or they just go off. I know some things last better in air tight containers so I have no issue moving them into those rather than store bought packaging but there’s no need to make all your food go off quick
Literally make the toothpaste useless Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it NOT EFFECTIVE
for these complications, any time I see people using boxes for organization or whatnot, I am chill with that. But seeing people unnecessarily transfer things to a different container just for the aesthetic seems really wasteful for me. especially when the container can't fit all of the product that was originally bought, so now you have one full aesthetic container and some leftover in another container.
Like the fucking toothpaste like bro it’s literally useless once transferred to see thru bottle because Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and makes it not effective
I try to be understanding. I tell myself "they just like the style, you don't have to agree with it." And then I see someone squeeze three tubes of toothpaste into a soap dispenser and it fills me with a primal rage from the pits of my heart. And yet I cannot look away...
People r complaining about the plastic but when ur done with the product ur gunna throw it away anyway which means ur still throwing away the plastic containers 🤣🤣 people r funny.
Okay then? lol no one has taken you hostage and is forcing you to watch restocking videos, if you don’t like to see basically the main thing they do then watch something else
Those containers will be thrown away or recycled anyway, most people dont hoard plastic and cardboard when theyre done with the product. They throw it away or recycle it. It doesnt matter if its now or 6 months from now when they finish it while its in its og container.
It so fking stupid bro Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it NOT EFFECTIVE in
There’s a purpose of that toothpaste tube, it is to protect the product from other harmful substance, people create more pleasing to the eyes rather than thinking the cause and the actual purpose of something. It’s kinda stupid,
It’s not exactly that but at least you know it stupid see Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it not effective
I hate these videos because of the amount of space they aren't saving with all those containers that are half full or are just there to make the fridge/pantry look pretty. But at the same time, I find them very relaxing and satisfying
it’s pretty common, if the container’s closed salted and unsalted butter stays good for a few weeks on the counter. plus, it spreads easier and is accessible.
Hi❤I just started posting a couple of weeks ago and I'd love it if you could check out some of my posts, I post tiktok compilations of all sorts, have a wonderful day ❤
Yep Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it not effective
I mean it’s hella satisfying, but this isn’t an OCD for everyone who thinks it is. Or for those who do this thinking yeah I have an OCD. It’s for aesthetic reasons, bcoz it’s organised and you like how it looks.
I've seen many of these organizations videos, but the toothpaste had me questioning humanity. So glad to see so many others in the comments were also disturbed😂
I think it’s dumb to buy all these containers just to put stuff in, but my goal is to learn how to crochet baskets and containers so I can sustainably organize things
in all seriousness, i cant even watch these anymore. not ever for just the asmr. these videos used to calm me a few years ago, but now they straight up outrage me and fill me with the "WTF WHY ARE U DOING THIS" feeling. nah i cant do this anymore ☠️✋🏻
I a person who has a hard time remembering things need to have this stuff so i know what i have and so i dont lose or waste food mainly fresh foods. As long as you are using it for its intended perpous like the fruit containers its fine.
I like the one girl that put her shampoo condi5ioner and body wash in white containers she kinda showed that like u can be asetic but u know still keeps it close to its original packaging
Thank you! I see this in every video and I was wondering when I'd see someone comment on this. It shortens the lifespan so much, especially when you wash it.
I'm pretty sure the reason you always find toothpaste in opaque containers is because there's smth in the toothpaste that reacts to light and makes it ineffective against cavities so the toothpaste one is really stupid
Exactly Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it not effective
I think we all agree that replacing toothpaste into other jar/bin/other compartement is a sin. especially when you know that the tube is actually have important function to protect the ingredient from direct light, and it not hygienic anymore when you replace it into another compartement ...
several questions as a european: 1. why do so many people leave the butter in the room? I put it in the refrigerator 2. can’t you or don’t you drink water from the tap in the us? actually these are my only two questions haha
most people put butter in the fridge, but some leave it at room temp so it is soft. you can drink tap water but some areas you don’t want to for health reasons. for several years my area was in a drought and trees grew in our water source so we went from having water that tasted like mud to it tasting like rotting plants
Understatement it’s fking Stupid Toothpaste is UV-reactive which means it reacts in the presence of light, explaining why it never comes in a see-through package and always has a tight lid. It’s only supposed to see light just before you start brushing. Squirting it into a pump dispenser will expose it to light early and make it not effective
Interesting that people are mad at the folks in the video but not the companies who put their product in the plastic containers. Just because you can bulk fill your Tide detergent (example) for “zero waste” and someone else gets it in plastic from the store, doesn’t mean you’re doing anything, Abby. You’re still giving your money to Tide who is still cranking out plastic. Like why are y’all so stupid to blame the consumer and not the corporations WHO KNOW they can do better and won’t???!!! And you all still throw away plastic anyway. NONE OF YOU kept that milk carton that went empty 6mos ago or the plastic container that the blueberries came in. I think it’s jealousy because I can’t for the life of me understand why you’re upset that she poured her juice (that she paid for) from one jar into another jar (that she also paid for) Melanie.
The fact that americans can afford all this stuff is overwelming for me as mexican, like the economy is so unfair, people should get the same kind of food and necesity's accomplished
@Princess Sabre so we should just live with that? We should try to make the world a better place instead of telling a probably more disadvantaged person than your self to get used to it...?
@Lance F350 bruh 😂 silly thing to say. I hate that people say ‘life is unfair’ to go against social change. You probably think racism is alright, because “life is unfair, get used to it.”
No only rich americans can. I've lived here my entire life and everyone in my house works but we can barely afford rent so we cant get fancy containers
What kills me is like the lady at 17 min doesn’t understand to cycle the old oil/spices on top of the new stuff so it’s just getting old and stale at the bottom! Someone hasn’t worked food retail
I like how people try and say it's sustainable...that's not sustainability, you're still buying things in plastic containers and putting them into other (mostly plastic) containers. You're not even saving money by doing this...wanting things organized and looking nice is fine so I get the fridge and things like that, but toothpaste in a soap dispenser???
these videos put me to sleep so i like them a lot but the asian in me itches every time they "refill" half full liquids hahahaha. i grew up being taught by my grandmother that you need to use everything until the last drop.
