Just when I thought that 2022 was looking a bit thin for Online concerts one pops up. How wonderful. Pity they aren’t like waiting for a bus when two or three always come along at the same time.

Hey Jonathan. I follow your concerts all over Europe. Love the channel of the Scott brothers. And now you were here in Amsterdam, only a 10 minute bike ride away, in our amazing Organ Music. I am board member of the Amsterdam Pianola Museum, another place you and your brother might find fascinating. Much smaller and less organ pipes, but still totally fascinating for anyone interested in keyboards. And the repertoire played by great pianists and organists. You are very welcome.

Thank you Jonathan & Tom for that wonderful tour of some of the amazing instruments at Orgelpark, I particularly liked the Baroque organ & the Mustel Harmonium-Celesta. I bet you wouldn't have minded adding the latter to your collection of instruments at home Jonathan!!! I was surprised today when hearing you play Bach's Andante brought tears to my eyes - a rare occurrence for me whilst watching a Scott Brothers concert. I have played your video of that piece, from the cathedral in Germany with the blue glass walls, many, many times as it is one of my favourite videos. Today, somehow it sounded more poignant & moved me considerably. Thank you both for all the hard work & time that went into creating today's concert. We are indeed extremely fortunate to have The Scott Brothers to entertain us with their incredible artistry. I'm so glad I came across your RU-vid channel, it has brought me so many wonderful musical moments. Thank you both for everything that you do. I remain a very grateful & loyal subscriber.

Sure Johnathan was happy to find such variety in one place. Many different styles and sounds. Glad I could listen to this later, and not miss a live Noon broadcast of Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro ". (Jonathan's organ transcriptions of Mozart are great too). From Chicago, U.S.A.

This was really a very nice demo of the organs at the Orgelpark. Ik liked Byrds "The Earl of Salisbury" a lot, but that's because I'm a huge fan of old Renaissance organs in meantone tuning, and "Les Chloches du Soir" . But the last piece, "The gates of Kiev", I knew from the rendition by Vangelis on synthesizer, and actually know this piece quite in detail as I listened a lot to this version. But your interpretation on organ was without doubt even superior, a very grand piece.

You should then watch and listen the full piece plus Tom's animation played by Jonathan at the Bergamo Cathedral late last year. Its uploaded on the Festival Organistico Internazionale - Bergamo website under the title 'Progetto Scuole 2021 - Cattedrale di Bergamo 29/10/2021' a tour de force on a remarkable organ

What an interesting variety of organs! When Jonathan described The Spaceship Organ, it boggled my mind! That he can play it, and play it masterfully, proves he's a genius! My favorite pieces today were Vierne's Carillon de Longpont, and Loret's Cloches du Soir. I'm in love with the sound of the harmonium, and now with the harmonium-celesta combined! Thanks for demonstrating all these instruments, with these exquisite musical selections! The idea of many organs together in one huge room is genius! It would be great if organs rescued from abandoned churches and concert halls could be preserved this way! Thanks to Tom for the visual tour with all the views and angles of the pipes and consoles! What a wonderful place! This is a wonderful concert! 🌞❤👏

Because of the current Ukrainian situation, I'm not especially inclined to celebrate anything Russian these days. But, that said, I thoroughly enjoyed the Great Gate (even if I did have to add canons and church bells in my head!). The Mustel was simply enchanting. The celeste was a brilliant addition to the little instrument. Your efforts to re-introduce the harmonium in various videos have surely advanced the instrument in the public thinking. I have come to adore them. I once owned a 2/13 with pedal Humphrey & Sons (London) reed organ. Not as charming as the Mustel, but surprisingly powerful.

Thank you! I've been watching and listening on my sound system and TV. Impressive! As a very retired organist, my sound system is 'almost' as good as being present. Loved the pedal work in your '1812' at Albion. I am charmed by the Loret and have been looking for it all over the internet with no success. How and where can I get it? I have a large Allen in my music room and would like to play it. Again a very big THANK YOU!

Are these different pipe organs been built especially for the Orgelpark or do they come from some churches ? They seem to belong to different centuries ... I did'nt understand all explainations of the excellent organist Jonathan Scott.
@epincion
@epincion 2 года назад
My understanding is that all but the 1922 Sauer were built for the Orgelpark deliberately as copies of the style of different organ traditions. The 1922 Sauer was the original organ in the building which was a church. If you look at the website of the Orgel Park all the instruments are described in detail.

Lol! During the premiere, a couple of people mentioned Bach's Toccata & Fugue in d minor in the chat. Well, a couple of hours after the concert, I was listening to a baseball game (Yankees/Red Sox), and at one point a Sox batter had 2 strikes on him, and in between pitches the Yankee Stadium organist played the opening chords of the Toccata! I laughed out loud! 😂

Good comment, my only point is that in solidarity with Ukraine you should spell it Kyiv and not Kiev which is the Russian spelling. Its an arcane point yes but Russia is trying to extirpate the Ukrainian language and culture and that includes imposing the Russian language spelling.
