To all, who haited and admire... This song is a requiem for soldiers and just a sad melody for us, who never saw the war and its misery, rage, sorrow and losses. Will she be honored for this song. For memory of those who did't return.
Wholeheartedly agree with your "never saw the war and its misery, rage, sorrow and losses". Hope this song instills the desire for peace in everybody listening to it.
@@dyermade the person didn't say Origa is from Sri Lanka. But the one who made this comment is from Sri Lanka and loves the song and her voice, even though that person doesn't know Russian language
I think this is one expression of Russian Spirit with Beautiful part of soul&folk music. Every Country, Race, Nation has his Own Beauty. It's all important for Human on Earth. We have No Living Place except this Globe.
Yeah, but I wish I wasn't hearing it while listening to Polyushka Polye! These are songs that were meant to win wars and set the world on fire, but this lady with the beautiful goddess voice is singing this one as though it were an aria! I mean, Polyushka Polye is couples-themed, but it isn't exactly Tyomnaya Noch!
You're right but this version brings it in a new perspective. It's about commemorating past heroes, the sadness, blood split and sacrifices that was done in the past to preserve this vast country.
Well, yeah, I guess if you put it that way, she made a classic Russian song out of a classic classically un-Russian Russian song. Throwing shade is hard. Especially against this Origa lady.
The comments are probably filled with pro-Russian sentiments and I'm an American so it's a little weird. But I have always loved Origa and even the Red Army Chior and to a greater extent. Russia. Beautiful country that creates beautiful artists. I wish nothing but peace for the future.
Does anyone know where I can find the Pohyuska Pole English words to this great song. My Grandmother and Grandfather were from Lithuania, but my dad had a English version of this song on a vinyl record, which is gone now. The song starts out: March over meadows where grasses in the plane's are rolling, Red Army heroes here are ????? If anyone could help me refind this version I would appreciate it
Shouldn't be weird lived in the US for 20 years the rus respect your soldiers and people way more than your nzi loving leadership and corporations do.Don't worry if Russia win against Nato there will be peace after all US/nato in the last 30 years started 58 wars while rus were only in 3 and finished 2 of those.
Olga (Origa) made the most lyrical and beautiful adaptation of this song. Also, She replaced the "Red Army heroes" (Красной армии герои) on "the heroes of the past times" (прошлого времени герои) and it is very true, correct and modern, as all these heroes of their time became the heroes of the past time. Thank you Olga and R.I.P.
Field, my darling field, Wide and lovely field, Heroes cross the field, Heroes of a past times. The wind will waves Ekh, da over the green field, Their dashing songs Songs of a past times. Only it leave there Their battle glory And dusty road, Stretching far away road. Field, my darling field, You saw a lot of grief, Was soaked by blood, Blood of a past times.
andika meilyan +andika meilyan This is a literal translation. The original lyrics "Polyushko pole" is very different, it is longer and is dedicated to the Red army (in some versions - the Russian army, although it is almost the same thing). Origa sing her own version, more international and at the same time which better conveys the history of Russia (and the Eurasian space) from ancient times to the present day.
andika meilyan Here is the original version https: // www .youtube. com/ watch?v=x2YlbiyiuMc (without the spaces) In comments, I wrote a translation, find it.
@TC Tsang PolushkO is correct in writing but in fact last letter 'O' in that word common sounds like mix of 'o' and 'a'. Looks like author misheard letter in diphthong.
I managed to download her discography almost a decade ago when her music was still super hard to find in good quality. That download was unbearably slow and took almost a week, but it was so worth it. She is one of the very few artists that have had such a strong effect on me that I will eventually buy all of her music someday. She may be gone, but I want to make sure to support her family and ensure that her legacy lives on as one of the best singers of her era.

The famous piece above, known as "Polyushka Polye", is a war march, that I imagine would be appropriate to sing when Soviet men are called to arms. As they leave their endless fields of rolling wheat down countless dirt roads, the women weep and the men consider their upcoming fate. The windy fields and open skies of Great Siberia at times betray a presence: The spirits of dead warriors from innumerable ages past howl and moan as they speed thru the land, their drive for the fight and for victory in battle unabaited, they linger... and are ever so momentarily perceptible to generations of soldiers to come... even as they, in the prime of their lives, walk headlong into the clutches of a future death in battle. This is the true meaning Lev Knipper and Viktor Gusev are trying to convey to you: the incredible cost of war.
Original and the best male singing is here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G099l5IWCn0.html Olga made the best female part, both parts are complementary: male and female,
