Me to0 i turned to this song during my “recovery” from cancer surgey and subsequent stroke. Many times i got so down and fustrated and reay to say fuck it
It's not how many times you've been Knocked down It's how many times you get back up Courage is when you've lost your way, But you find your strength anyway Very Inspiring!!
Take all my vicious words And turn them into something good Take all my preconceptions And let the truth be understood Take all my prized possessions Leave only what I need Take all my pieces of doubt And let me be what's underneath Courage is when you're afraid, But you keep on moving anyway Courage is when you're in pain, But you keep on living anyway We all have excuses why Living in fear something in us dies Like a bird with broken wings It's not how high he flies, But the song he sings Courage is when you're afraid, But you keep on moving anyway Courage is when you're in pain, But you keep on living anyway It's not how many times you've been Knocked down It's how many times you get back up Courage is when you've lost your way, But you find your strength anyway Courage is when you're afraid Courage is when it all seems grey Courage is when you make a change, And you keep on living anyway You keep on moving anyway You keep on giving anyway You keep on loving anyway
This song made my heart melt... I absolutely love both Orianthi and Lacey they are both gifted women and they are sooo inspirational. This song makes me want to just cry, cry for every one out there who is going through tough times, every one out there who deserves a whole heck of a lot of love and appreciation for everything they've done for those people. This song gives me hope that there are still people out there who are wonderful. :) I love you Orianthi and Lacey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2021 and I still cry to this song. I feel like I could have used these lyrics this past year. Everyone needs to hear the words and feel them. In a world split by hate, it would be wise to have words like this in the back of your mind.
Orianthi has to be the most underrated singer/musician out there today. This girl is phenominal and so inspirational. She does it all! Rock, hard rock, blues could even say this song is cross over country....And all I hear on the radio is crap.
I'm 54 years old and been a music/guitar fan all my life, and she is one of the most compelling guitar players I've ever heard. Not sure how I missed her all these years. Hearing this track, I would like to hear an album of hers that follows Santana's lead, where her songs with her on guitar are vocalized by other female singers.
Orianthi....As a guitarist she has more touch, tone, feel, & speed than most of the "Top Guitarists" out there...She is also an excellent songwriter/vocalist...Listen to her collaborate with various musicians, as well as her solo work...She is awesome!...Did I forget to mention how beautiful she is...(Yes, I'm a fan!)... :)
What an Absolutely Amazing Collaboration. Love Lacey with Flyleaf and Orianthi is Flat Out an Amazing Guitarist & Singer. Would love another Song by them. Love This Song 👍🏻
The coolest thing about pairing these 2 is, and a nice little number they collaborated on, they are both sisters-in Christ. Praise God. Psalm 104:33 "I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being."
Hello Brucev7 I'm only picking you to ask because your post is at the top right now, so please don't assume I'm singling you out. I am assuming you don't claim to speak for anyone but yourself but you may be able to comment on what you seem to feel around you, so I'm asking you, however you'd like to reply - Why is it that so many Christians feel the need to wave their religion around as if you were still being tortured in the Coliseum? Can't you be quietly Spiritual and just say you enjoy the song or like the musicians?? Or is it some need or desire to be evangelical that requires so much chest-beating?
@@enorbet2 I heard it best said as "Evangelism is one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread." Let's be honest, with how broken the world is, with so much depression, anxiety, suicide... we're all looking for hope. And also, Muslims often evangelize way more aggressively than Christians do, but the PC media has taught us to give them way more slack. School shootings didn't really happen before they took the Bible out of schools. The only reason we share our hope, is because we were hopeless before we found God. I hope this answers your question.
What a great feel good/fighter songs. Since Thanksgiving week my life has been pretty tough. I've been knocked down so many times but I always get back up. This song is helping me feel better about everything. Funny how a simple song can boost your mood & change your mindset ya know. Thank you Ori & Lacey for a wonderful song. How is Ori NOT bigger then she is? A wonderful singer (needs no autotone) & a kickass guitar player. Hope Ori gets noticed more soon and blows up the music biz soon!
Orianthi is one of the greatest female guitarists I have ever seen! And ow Lacey's voice is just OMG! Great combination! keep the good work up, hope to see more duo from these two. :)
this song has made me feel when im in so much pain ive just gone numb. its made me cry with passion when i sing it. ths song is everythng holy and godly, and im not even religious. when i listen to this song, i know that there's somehow, somewhere a way to keep going. this song gives me courage. orianthi, u r my hero
This is one song that I can relate to. Courage happens when something terrible happens in your life, but you keep on living, keeping in mind that things will get better. I felt like I lost everything once.. But I kept on going, I made it through, and now I feel stronger than ever.
Isabella clasped her hands together and held them up against her chest. Opening her mouth, she began to sing: Take all my vicious words And turn them into something good Take all my preconceptions And let the truth be understood Take all my prized possessions Leave only what I need Take all my pieces of doubt And let me be what's underneath Courage is when you're afraid, But you keep on moving anyway Courage is when you're in pain, But you keep on living anyway Isabella ran around the tree and peered around its side, watching as her best friend began walking out of view. She smiled pitifully for him as the fireflies danced to her singing: We all have excuses why Living in fear something in us dies Like a bird with broken wings It's not how high he flies, But the song he sings Unbeknownst to her, through his sorrow Phineas found the strength to finally let out some notes of his own: Courage is when you're afraid, (I'm so afraid) But you keep on moving anyway (I can't keep moving on) Courage is when you're in pain, (Oh, how my heart hurts) But you keep on living anyway (I just can't live like this…) You keep on living anyway (… I can't keep living anyway) The forest seemed to dance along to the unknown duet the two teenagers sang. Isabella turned around and glued her back against the tree, spreading her arms against its trunk and turning her head upwards. It's not how many times you've been knocked down It's how many times you get back up Phineas would have rejoiced that he had the strength now to sing again, had it not been for the fear that weighed his heart down. He wished so badly to find himself again, to feel the way he used to feel, but with an end such as is seemingly unavoidable now, it was hard to see past the pain. In his sorrow he forgot of the positive things he had spoken about with Ferb in the Queen's garden that morning. He raised his head and gestured to the forest around him as he poured out his heart: It's been such a lonely road To carry all this pain, on my own Each night my soul does pray To be delivered from this in anyway This path wasn't mine to choose Where their lives I save, but mine I lose They don't know how hard I cry When my courage fails and my fears arise While he placed he spread out his arms and closed his eyes, Isabella clasped her hands together again and pressed them against her heart: Courage is when you've lost your way, (I've lost my way) But you find your strength anyway (Oh where's my strength)Courage is when you're afraid (I'm so afraid) Courage is when it all seems grey (Oh please, I pray) Courage is when you make a change, (Why was I the one) And you keep on living anyway (to make this change anyway?) Phineas lowered his arms and continued on his way towards the village with his head down. Isabella closed her eyes for a moment and then looked around the tree, only to find that the Seer had completely disappeared from view now. You keep on moving anyway (anyway…) You keep on giving anyway (anyway…) She placed a hand on her heart and smiled encouragingly. You keep on loving anyway Isabella raised her hand to her mouth and blew a kiss in her best friend's direction. "Sweet dreams, Phineas," she whispered before turning around and walking back to the fire and music.
Lacey and Orianthi complement each other very well. Great duo and very pretty song with a great message. I'd love to see more of these ladies together.
It's great to see someone who can actually play the guitar being featured in music these days. The record industry has just about destroyed the chances of real talent being heard by the masses on favor of ready made 'pop artists' whose15 minutes start ticking while they are in the studio. Orianthi is a great discovery and hopefully she inspires a generation of kids to pick up a guitar and make real music.....again.
1st time hearing this and OMG!!!! Amazing message and the guitar is absolutely flawless! Kinda weird I’m hearing it almost nine years later but glad I did! I love it! Definitely going to be looking into more of your music.
They are comfortable being who they are. And they are amazing. This is one of the best songs I have ever heard and I hope orianthi and lacey do more songs in the future!!! They are great together, don't you think??
Why isn't this song on the top 100 song??true music ,amazing guitarist, and 2 great singers!! "it's not how many times you've been knocked down but how many times you get back up"
This song effects me so much. I can't help but look up at the sky and just sing along, and mhy heart pounds and I smile so much, it's just amazing in every way.
I'll give an example. when Orianthi describes the first time she was turned on to rock music. It wasn't just Santana that did it for her, it was the quality in the guitar sound/tone along with the skill of the player. So she became not only obsessed with Rock music, but the equipment based on it's sound quality. It's actually a sign of a producer in the making. Not just a master musician/song writer.
This song is awesome, I just discovered Orianthi a couple days ago and I've been listening to flyleaf for a while now. Their voices compliment each other so well. Totally a fun and chill song.
I got this courage staring me in the face i got this courage leaving me i got what you got inside of me i got those feelings around you i got the courage to love i got the courage to look within
I've listened to some Orianthi and I've liked it but I've never been a huge fan. I'm a huge Flyleaf fan and when this show up in my suggestions lists I thought to myself 'That can't be Lacey Stuem' I clicked on it just to check and I discovered this beautiful song.
ori has really inspired me to follow my dreams. My mother has breast cancer, and because its genetic, I will be getting it when I'm older. But I am not afraid- I can live my life to the fullest, and see my mother pull through. Orianthi is an inspiration because she followed her dreams, and never gave up.
Orianthi - Not only can she sing well, play the guitar and is pretty, she has a kind heart and she makes the songs that encourage everyone and anyone that listens to them. They build our spirit and make our souls more colourful. That's why Orianthi is great.
feel in love of the song, i love lacey, she's a inspiration for me definitly, and for her I started to hear to Orianthi, she's such an amazing guitarrist, love her too two really talented girls :3
Oh my gosh I work at Kohl's and this song plays at least twice a day during store hours and I am absolutely a fan of it and now that I finally know who sings it I love it even more! Orianthi and Lacey are great together! :)
