I used to buy Oribe and Kerastase all the time and then I tried Pantene and Dove again on a whim and found they performed better on my hair. 😂 I cringe thinking about all the wasted dollars.
Oribe products have a much gentler smell than any drugstore shampoo I ever tried. They perform well. Kerastase is a hit or miss for me. I wish Pantene and Dove would dial down their fragrance to about 10%-15% of current strength, I cannot get past the smell to give it a try.
I was buying fancy haircare too! Then developed itch at my scalp and the savior to this was… Head&Shoulders shampoo that I didn’t use for ages. 😂 I’ve a few high end products to treat myself, but for a while now I’m looking for cheaper stuff. Also I pick haircare for my mom and except for K18 mask (that actually transformed her hair) she uses only cheap Dove, Pantene and Loreal products now.
As a hairstylist, I would just like to remind everyone that you really don’t want to use cheap shampoos and conditioners if you are paying to have her done professionally. Will be a waste of your money and time. Having said that, I think Oribe is extremely overpriced. There are plenty of other lines that will help maintain your color and help with your hair without costing that much.
I’ve always been picky about the products I use, especially for my hair, since a good routine makes a huge difference. Along with switching up my products, I’ve added a few supplements from Secret Supplements that turn you into a Superhuman to support healthy hair. Collagen has been one of the best it’s helped with both hair strength and growth. Combining the right products with good nutrition really works wonders.
I have been using Pantene for color treated hair for more than 30 years. I get asked what shampoo I use quite often. And while most women my age are cutting their hair short, my hair is long, thick and very healthy. There is absolutely nothing better than finding a product that really works and sticking with it.
I looked at those Oribe products, especially the pink ones, for so long before I ended up buying the same bottle of Costco’s Pantene and it works very nicely. Thank you for making this, I don’t have to feel like I missed out as a poor grad student!
Bashing Pantene for having wax is as old as the hills. I remember when all of us in the dorm gave up Pantene because we thought there was wax in it and our hair would break. That was 50 years ago! Btw… depending on where you bought that Oribe conditioner they might replace it. I had a similar problem, and my hair salon replaced it at no charge.
Dear Dr. Dray, I had the shampoo bottle incident myself once! How irritating! Thanks for another smashing vlog! Your self care tips really cheer my day up!
Thanks for sharing your day with us. The pumpkins you got are cute! I haven't used Pantene in quite a while but might have to give the one you've been using a try. Happy Sunday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a blessed evening. 💖
My theory of hair: the less stuff you do to it, the better it looks. Thus, I wash once a week, use no heat, and touch up roots with demi permanent Clairol Natural Instincts about four times a year. My hair never looks dirty unless I go nuts with oils and leave in products, or unless I have been doing yardwork. Corollary 1 of my hair theory: shampoo gets rinsed out. Spend your $$ on leave in conditioner. So, I use Pura d'Or Biotin shampoo and conditioner (they match), followed by Pureology 21 Color Fanatic spray conditioner. Obviously I am not a supermodel, but I am happy with my hair. (For reference it is texture 2b, dark blonde, almost waist length.) Pumpkin Park, formerly known as River Oaks Park. I remember that place. It's by Lamar HS, sort of, somewhere off Edloe? I knew someone on Wickersham Street, not far away. I never go into town anymore. I like it when you vlog about Houston because I grew up here and recognize places, especially in the Heights and Midtown areas.
I usually use Olaplex and it's great for my hair health, but I prefer the smoothing effects of the Oribe Gold Lust which helps my textured hair in the southern humidity.
The real magic is in the oribe serene scalp (I didnt think the oil control did much) but definitely the serene scalp shampoo was the only thing that worked on my oily dandruff without drying out my hair (I tested like 7 shampoos)
The trapperkeeper segue. 😂 I had one and I loved the Velcro closure sound. I would open and close it throughout class, which I’m sure is why they were banned. 😂
Great video as always! I want to get a few pumpkins for the "critters" in the area! I want to thank you for the recent video about applying Vaseline on minor cuts and abrasions! Yesterday I was taking a walk, the sidewalks are terrible in the area I was in, I didn't notice it dipped down and I fell. ( I was not looking at my phone). I hit my head, hard, above my eyebrow, it has road rash, bumped my nose, scuffed up my hands and road rash on my knee. I limped home and washed my injuries with Hibiclens cleanser, applied Vaseline, then ice packs off and on until bed time. I would have dug out the antibiotic cream if I didn't see your video, thank you!
Thank you for sharing this fun video - the small pumpkins are adorable 🎃 The Wishing tree brought a smile for sure - my wish... love and peace for everyone 💕
Same thing happened to my Oribe shampoo bottle. Slipped 2 feet from the tub ledge and lid cracked off. Not like one of life's tragedies or anything but for the money I spent it's ridiculous.
Yay Pantene! 😂 Pantene conditioners always worked great for my hair. I once seen online someone that had something wrong happening to her cause of a Pantene product and all the internet chaos it brought with it. So I stoped using Pantene cause it was “bad” for your hair. I recently remembered how well my hair did with Pantene and bought it again. And I’m SO happy I did! I’m also obsessed with the Pro-V scent (smells like candy to me), so all I want to buy now are Pantene products 😂
Try dove! They’ve been the sleeper winner. I have a shower full of redken, pureology, amika and even the gold lust but my favs to use are the new dove.
Jackie!!!!!! I've been worried about you and praying that you were ok. So happy to see you! I hope you've been enjoying the Fall weather in your area. It's been gorgeous weather here for the last few weeks. Wonderfully chilly nights perfect for getting cozy. I sure would love you to join me for tea, my dear sweet friend. My kitties would love it if Miss Fancy Pants could join them for cuddles and head scratches. Please give her some extra ones from me. Hope you have a lovely evening and enjoy sweet dreams. Peace, joy and many blessings to you always. ❤🙏❤🕊❤☕🐈☕🐈❤🍂🎃🍁❤
🙋🏻♀️previous talker here in elementary school I was held back after school to write 100 lines: I will not be talkative in class or something similar 😂
So you can use serums under tretinoin but can or should you use anything on top of it for best results? I always thought using it alone would be best so as not to dilute it. What gel did you use around your eyes after the tretinoin? I loved your video. Thank you.
I knew we had things in common besides the love of skin care and in depth information on ingredients, I was also the one being told to be quiet in class😂. Thank you for all your great videos!
I agree about Oribe. I love pretty packaging but recently bought Dove scalp therapy to save money on shampoo + conditioner and it performs just as well. In my opinion Oribe is better as treatment products. I’ve used the Gold Lust hair oil and Priming Lotion leave-in conditioning detangler and they work amazing on my thick curly hair.
love your pumpkin picks. thanks for taking us to the park.. It's a great Sunny 73 degree day here in Pa. I was out walking myself through the dropped leaves. The trees are so pretty . I like the burnt orange color best.
The Oribe cap packaging is terrible. The product itself is amazing. When I’m wanting to feel and luxurious feeling and scent, I switch from my Kevin Murphy and B3 to Oribe. Mmm
❤yup‼️We ARE here to hear you “run your mouth” 😂 MORE please❤️✨ Why is there hate for Pantene? A decade ago my stylist got so annoyed proclaiming her hatred for the brand, when I asked “why?”, she didn’t have an answer 🤷🏼♀️ BTW everything in my shower must have a pump💥
Dr Dray. Save a twist off or flip top container and squirt that conditioner into it. Problem solved! I’m sure you already thought of that 😅. Blessed Sunday to everyone!
Schools do have petty rules. My son's school tried to make him colour in the yellow stitching on his Doc Martens black! They also told him his hair was too long...even though it was actually more high 🤔 We actually lived in the area in which the $$$$ school was located, so we told them what our "community values" were and took our money elsewhere. What "squares"! 👱❤️
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n 🖐Hello Every1 n Happy Sunday😀n what a Wonderful Vlog…. thanks n This is Gonna b so Cool🔥👍n Continued Blessings to All💜….
I bought the exact same set of Oribe products and the cap also broke off the conditioner bottle! I thought it was just my bad luck! Ridiculous! To try to get the bottle of shampoo to last longer I did my first wash with Head & Shoulders, then my second wash with Oribe and let the shampoo sit on my head for a while before rinsing off. I can't say I noticed any less oil production after washing.
I too was scolded for taking too much and asking too many questions. In addition, one of my report cards stated that I needed to allow others to speak once in a while. 😅
I wonder if you could still like even though you used it because some stores will let you return or exchange bottles even if you would like used it once or twice since you broke it right away
I’ve always used salon products 💵but am loving hearing your reviews on drugstore products 🙌loved the pumpkin 🎃 patch, Halloween 🎃 is my favorite holiday, love your vlogs 👍🙌👻🎃
I was so upset when i saw that the pantene strawberry coconut shampoo and conditioner were no longer being sold at my Costco 😭 its a huge bottle so I still have some left. I hope it comes back or starts being sold in stores since I don't know if I trust the amazon and walmart suppliers
I get the ear stuff. One ear canal will crust and then ooze. Washing my ears with Head and Shoulders got rid of all of that. The other ear has some weird crusty spot, it's much better with the H&S but it never goes away completely. The docs tell me to put cortisone on it.
Honestly, I feel like we are paying for the fragrance and packaging than the actual product. Shout out to the salon products that work though like Biolage and It's a 10.
@@DrDrayzday 3:01 Doesn't the clear bottle of the Vit C serum reduce the effectiveness of the vit C? What's your opinion on the strong bright lights Target switched to in the cosmetic section. Does it impact light-sensitive active ingredients?
I can’t find the Strawberry Coconut Pantene anywhere. I think they stopped making it :( Update: I reached out to Pantene and this is what they said: Our Strawberry and Coconut Shampoo was part of our Spring '24 Costco line and was only sold February-July, I do apologize for the inconvenience.
I have had dry hair my whole life, I am older now and going through menopause. I can wash my hair a million times and my hair looks greasy! I keep trying different shampoos but hair ends up looking greasy! Help!
Is it oily shortly after washing it? Do you wash the scalp twice, massaging the shampoo really well onto it? Oils are hard to remove and often we just don't wash and massage enough to fully remove them 😓
@@Vegan_Vlogs this is hard for me because I always had extremely dry hair and for some reason during menopause things are changing and I never had to deal with something like this. Thanks for your advice. I think I need to change my shampoo and conditioner, I just haven't found the right one.
@@stephaniefuller I understand, it really wreaks havoc on our hormones and bodies. Not long ago I tried a 'Pureology sheer hydration' shampoo and it seems to cleanse well but doesn't dry out my fine hair. I hope you find something suitable that will work well for you :)
@@DrDrayzdayPlease help if you can. My daughter has terrible dandruff and dry scalp issues. Her hair gets greasy easily. I have tried everything I could find. Any advice on that?
