I ordered the green Triton Lite after watching your other videos. Such a cool looking sports watch. Not really a fair comparison to the more expensive Triton, which is a true certified divers watch. I will mainly be using my Triton Lite's rotating bezel as a bbq timer anyway.
I purchased a blue Triton over two years ago. It became my most worn watch, since I would wear it to bed. The lume is equal to or better than any of my other watches. The differentiation between the indices is just right for rapid reading of the time. When this new “Triton Light” came out and it became clear that Orient was discontinuing the Triton/Neptune, I purchased a barely used black Triton. The only negatives that I have found with the Triton are that it is a bit chunky and the crown is a bit wobbly. The crown on my blue Triton wobbled right off the stem, so the watch is currently in the shop. Even with this problem, I felt confident enough in Orient to buy the second Triton. With the changes that Orient made from the Triton to the “Triton Light”, if a person couldn’t find an actual Triton, I would suggest getting the smaller and less expensive Kamasu or moving up to the Orient Star Diver (RE-AU30xx). My current diver collection consists of: Orient blue Ray II, green Kamasu, black Triton, blue Triton, Orient Star Diver, Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver (BN0191-55L), Bulova Oceanographer “Devil Diver” (96B322), Glycine Combat Sub (GL0079).
@@valueink The Glycine is considerably thinner and lighter than the original Triton. It also has a more accurate movement and I prefer its very positive 60 click bezel. Considering how small the lumed indices are on the Glycine, it is surprisingly readable in the dark. After I commented on this post, I did purchase a Triton Light at a reasonable price. Being slightly thinner and lighter than the Triton, it does wear more comfortably. I also prefer its longer minute hand.
Bro, you is lucky! You know, some where I red that Original Orien Triton, became a Swan Song of Orient diver/tool watch. I,m agree. No before/no after, you can,t find another Orient woth that huge value! It easy bits any diver from 500 till 1000usd! 1. Calibre from OSD, 2000usd. It means, much much better calbre, then in Mako/Kamtsu/Kanno family 2. Chock resistanse, like M'Force family. There are 3 rubber rings inside case. They support calibre, it floating... 3. Great, best in class, lume! 4. Price. Mine, blueone, I,ve bougt by 430usd. Keep Tritons in your collections. Orient will never produce something like them....
The Oriënt Triton and the Steinhart Ocean are the peak of cheap divers in my oppinion. No complains yet about either. The Triton is my daily beater and the ocean ceramic edition for more dressy occasions.
Just ordered one of these solid budget divers for my Dad. Definitely worth every penny. Quick question : Do the Strapcode bracelets that fit the original Triton fit the alternate model compared here. I’d love to throw it on an Angus J from Strapcode. Thanks so much for more the video!
i love both, my only worry is the playback on bezel action, which i still wait for the watch at store to taste my self instead of buying online. thanks for the video and surely i preferer both on bracelet not strap
Be in no doubt, the new Triton range, F6722 engine, heavy duty case, crown still at 4 o'clock is a great watch. No power meter but hardly the end of the World. You can't read it below 30 meters anyway. The new Triton rocks 💪
Would you say the bezel are interchangeable between these 2 watches? I ask because only the 2 tone variant of the Triton is available for sale. The blue and black variants have long been sold out. What is left have ridiculous asking prices. I don't mind the guild hands and indexes, but I don't think the gold bezel works for me. My thought is to replace the bezel without the gold tone.
Hello. I have my eye on this Triton for years now and couldn't find the one with the power reserve. I have recently found a site where it's available. But have read the reviews where someone complained how the crown broke off. Now I am skeptical about buying it. What's your thoughts on me buying it anyway? Oh, and that review also stated that the watch is totally useless.
Hello my friend.. I love this Orient version,, but I want to ask you... Which one do you prefer or think is better ? this Kamasu III or this new model RA-AC0K04E10B ? Hope your thoughts .. Thank you
In this original Triton, 3 extra rubber ring, supports calibre in case. That is why ,crown is wobbing. Calbre is floating inside the case body. Rhis diver is chocl resist. I dropped casualy ,my Triton on ceramic plate floor., 1.6m hight. NOTHING! same accuracy, +4spd, just one small mark on body left. This watch like G-Chock. Many giys doesn,t know that and complaing about crown wobbing. This Triton became a dengerous opponent to Orient Tar divers and M-Force. That is why was descontuined
the big orient is the best a saturation diver is even better. you can find them as new on ebay, i think the smaller one is a kano or kamasu. one is 41mm one is 44mm
You’re spot on. It’s funny though, my Colombian girlfriend tells me that when she was a kid, orient had a huge marketing campaign with catchy music and everything. I really didn’t hear about orient until I started collecting watches more seriously
Hello, good review! I have the Triton Light but don't really like the bracelet. I see that you have exchanged the bracelet of the Triton to a strapcode super oyster. I am wondering if the same strapcode oyster bracelet will also fit on the Triton Light case? Can you try to fit the bracelet and let me know if it works on both watches?
@@edgarsoriano1278 actually I downloaded pictures of both watches from official Orient USA website and I superimposed them on top of each other (on PowerPoints, and set one of the image transparency at 50%) and I can see that the lug shapes are exactly the same. Therefore I think the strapcode bracelet works on both
Great 👍🏻 comparison review on these two Orients. Like you I own the blue Orient Triton with power reserve and I also added a Strapcode angus jubilee bracelet to mine . The Triton light is nice but nothing beats the original JIS rated professional diver . Definitely like our blue Orient Triton the best 👍🏻😎
Printed indices, no hacking, no hand wind, hardlex. Always the same story with SKX owners. 25 yo design. At the same price, I go with the Triton all the way.
You have to be careful of the crown and stem on these as they break. I've upgraded mine with a better quality stem, crown and tube by my watch guy and it's 100% better.
