Still no remake? Come on Jo! Sort it out pal! This is an absolutely awesome model but your tutorials have improved significantly in quality since you made this video back in the early days. An update would make the completion of the model more accessible to more people. Granted, it would be a big piece of work though lol!
@zyber45 At 5:49: There is a new pleat (the 4th pleat) and it crosses two existing pleats (1st and 3rd pleats). At 5:25 I'm arranging the paper as if this new pleat was made before the 1st pleat (unfold partially the 1st pleat, fold the 4th pleat and refold the 1st pleat) This same pattern repeats over the whole body
@musicmixer112 Work on the scales (5:05) with white side up for a coloured body and white head (don't worry about the side during the pre-creasing) You'll have to make another reverse fold on the top part of the tail to make it coloured
I really do like this model, and like the tutorial but please please please put the full instructions on! You skip a lot of parts and it's quite confusing noticing your model is slightly different during the process.
I'm at the cross over scale part! its been fun so far. tho i've had to re-play several times to catch steps. My suggestion would be to show the cross over in more detail. Thanks again, super amazing piece! I'm going to complete it......
Vc poderia fazer um novo upload desse vídeo Jô, só que dessa vez mostrando todo o processo das escamas com CC em português e tal, seria muito bacana, pq esse modelo é simplesmente incrível.
Wow this one is beautiful ! but please can you make an additionnal video with more detail from 5.30 to 7.30 ? because I think I miss something when I compare my final work to your. in any case, thanks a lot for your videos, keep going !
What do you mean by "The pleats should be alternating (under/over)"? Also, do I need to do the folds you are doing to every scale? Or just some of them?
Can you please elaborate how to reverse-fold the longer tail? I've been repeating that part for quite some time now (at least 50 minutes...haha!). I really want this to be done but I'm stuck. O.O
I LOVE YOU!!!! I really love you!!! Only one thing: please don't use green paper for tutorial cause it's hard to follow you when you use it, I don't know why, maybe I'm stupid! xD Anyway: I love you!
TRICK PART FIGURED OUT: once you have pleated (where the trick part starts) unfold both of the pleats. then fold them back at the same time, making a rabbit ear-ish fold squash it and there you have the overlap... hope i helped
With origami you can fold a creature with any type of paper. Origami paper is more moldable and stays in shape better but is not as strong as other paper. Copy paper should work fine as long as it's not really stiff and thick.
@@jonakashima I know it's been requested a lot in this comment section but pleeease do a remake this model is so pretty but the tutorial is hard to follow.
Jo! Não é difícil eu sei, porém qdo chega nas patas- I just give up! Um grande abraço
The dollar koi is too advanced for my understanding right now so I figure I would try to mess with this one first to get my skills up. How did I take me this long to find your channel?
The force is with you. (You say: Thumbs up) (I did it immediately without thought)..... you must have just waved your hand...... Jedi Master Jo Nakashima.
hello friend the truth that is super cool you deserve a round of applause and my admiration seriously are good thank you very much for showing us how you do ... I'm super cool
I only managed to do the correct pleating in the middle, every single one of that is a struggle... My fish looks quite loose on the side :( It would be great if this tutorial gets a remake
just at the end i noticed that it's bad to have only origami paper that has a white side... i don't really like how it looks with one side couloured paper... i will do it again with both side coloured paper, and one thats something as big as yours, because when folding it with smaller paper the eyes are almost impossible to fold like that XD
@exoticagent613 and @kyleepotski you have to continue creasing but you have to leave two squares uncreased, then you have to repeat it all on the other side....
