Thanks for the best origami crane instructions online! I bought a cool origami book that was part photo instructions and part paper to make them. Could not finish crane via instructions since it was my first time to attempt origami. I went to YT to find a video. Was about to give up. Especially since my paper only patterned on one side and nobody addressed that. Then I found your video. Success! Once i completed the crane successfully I subscribed to your channel. for those having trouble getting it to flap. pull slowly the tail out straight and it should pop the folding a bit and be set

In case ur new bird friend is being stubborn and not flapping don’t pull like u mean in stretch out the wings and crease the ever so slightly but not so much it’s visible then ever so slightly on the bottom of the bird opposite side of the head open slightly and as ur doing that pull the tail a little or gently the close back together keeping wings out-ish and holding the tail then start to calmly pull it gently back and forth but if not the case don’t panic find the area we’re it’s tight and then either pooch it out or etc. to get it healthy and well again Origami is an art that can be tedious and or delicate but always remember to stay calm during the process A good tip is to do this around midnight to 2:00 in the morning if u can’t some how be/get calm to do origami Hoped this helped if any questions comment and I’ll get back as soon as can If u think he is a good origami teacher like | | | ¥

This was so easy to make! Although at first the wings wouldn't flap but I somehow made it work, one side is a bit wonky but for my first time it's fine.

First, I thank anyone who goes to the time and trouble to post instructional videos. My first attempt at a flapping bird (from another video) was not successful with respect to the flapping. At first no wings flapped, then I fidgeted with it and one wing flapped slightly. This was with a 4" X 4" piece of printer paper. Then I followed this video, with a 6" X 6" piece of printer paper (often easier with a larger piece) and was successful. As another commenter noted, it can depend on how you pull the tail. I pulled a bit harder and straight back and the wings flapped nicely. It is important to try to be as precise as one can in the folding and pressing down the edges. To show how well at least I think the video is at describing the method, I think I heard "Hey Guys" or something similar, then I turned off the audio and followed along with just the video, staying calm by listening to Mozart. So I have no idea what the audio instructions were. Thank you very much to the poster of this instructional video. I will be looking for more :)

I discovered this tutorial about 8 years ago, just used it to brush up after a long time out of practice. The pace is perfect for instructing and instructions are very clear, that’s why I looked for this specific video when I needed a reminder ….😊
