This is the beautiful origami horse by Hideo Komatsu. The diagrams can be found in the book 'Works of Hideo Komatsu', a very nice book plenty of beautiful origami models. Paper used in video: origami paper 35x35cm Level: Hard
Finally an Origami Horse video tutorial on RU-vid where the final creation looks like what was promised in the thumbnail. Thank you for creating this 🙏
Well, it's much lumpier than the finished product here, but I _was_ able to make a horse! Mine looks more like a dog, but I'm sure it takes some practice to have it come out as lovely as the one here. Thanks for the video!
It's mind blowing indeed! These guys like Hideo Komatsu are professional origami designers so they are spending all their hours on designer and calculating how to make a model, it's unbelievable
It's true, the thought process of "let's see where this fold leads us" and going from there to the next fold and so on, to end up with something so intricately detailed, it just plain fascinating.
@@OriDMT On the other hand, John Montroll said he doesn't use mathematics in creating an origami, even though he's a mathematician (either does Kamiya, reportedly). Perhaps his innate knowledge of mathematics helps him subconsciously.
@@OriDMTmath is great even in things like chess it's the language of the what is and what shall be, but i think the professional mostly depend on thier muscle memory with a big map on folding lines, like when you start from the first step, he might be out there on his mind in the 100th step starting to think what could he get from this particular fold, a horse? a rose? a swan? it can be easier to imagine a thing from a late point and it depends on how experienced the individual is to work with it
cool my daughter my mother will love this I be a even more cooler Dad thanks so much for the time you put this great art form that more people should respect.
Holy Smokes! How in the heavens does one come up with such a design? Designing a Nuclear Reactor would be easier, I think. At least we have well established theories of Physics and Mathematics to fall back on. This is Genius...Pure Genius.
There's also math, physics and theory about origami, it's crazy hard but its like everything, if you are good, you passed through a lot of study for sure!
@@GabrielRodriguez-xm8gr Yeah, check this out: Folding Dueling Knights | Origami Time-Lapse ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gd3fjchHGEI.html (The design took 2.5 years to do and the folding took 109 hours. The 100x timelapse takes about and hour to watch.)
Yeah..that's the part where i always f@#* up🤯... my work turns into a flying watchamacallit straight into the trash bin🤪🤭😁. But this is the most beautiful origami horse ive ever seen so ill keep on trying. I love it!😍🥰
42:39 to 43:22 you didn't show what you were doing- Can't figure out how you pulled out the folded bits underneath without ripping it. Could've been a lot clearer had you just gone slower & showed the camera, but I enjoyed this tutorial other than that
The greatest video of origami (others are mostly clickbait or the say it is easy/simple) this is really kind of easy But try using any app and fast forward the video
I´m actually using "Tissue paper" (which I bought in Ireland since I can´t find here in Spain lol), and is soooooo slim that I can see eeeevery fold from any of both sides, is almost transparent haha Translucid may I say. Btw, since is a pretty complicated figure, I´d suggest a less heavy/thick (less grams/cm^2/inch) than normal, so is thin and u can fold it better. Also, have in mind that you´d have to be way more gentle in every step (I´m atm at min 13:22 and took me 57min20s to get there (I´m measuring time hahaha). Good luck, be patient, and enjoy!! Some meditation music helps ;)
Not sure if the videocreator will see this, I'm hoping you do, between 19:45 & 21:32 minutes into the video, I cannot figure out what you're folding, specifically at 20:51 min. when you push up the paper what folds are those from? I feel I keep missing some tiny fold or something, amazing figure! I love to do origami, so I'm determined to figure out that area of the video, thank you very much 🙂 And enjoy your day!
You have to unsink twice. At 20:46 you see a fold on the part that is laying on the tabel, that fold should become a valley fold. But I can be done without this crease though it's just an indication. Push it out until it can't go any further. That's all I can help with
Wow, Did you mean that you figured out it by urself, if my guess is right………? I just wanna look into and know what your brain structure is like / | \ / ?? ? Auuu…at the last part, my brain has melted down in the water………!!
JM's Origami Tutorials Wow, thank u for the reply! Diagram, diagr@m,…oh what awesome diagrams ❣️ Ur just awesome, I became ur big fan ! Plz keep on this great work as it is, I would follow u ! !
