This is a pretty easy origami model, starting with a pentagon shape. I designed this, but I'm pretty sure someone already beat me to it somewhere!

This helped me so much! This is a bowl I made to out a bunch of origami stars in, with little messages for my mom. It definitely made her feel really good on her birthday. And I also made a bunch of diy things for her

It's actually really easy, you just have to fold it to make two similar overlapping/folded triangles, with a rectangle that is sticking out. Then you cut the rectangle and open the folded part (the triangle) to get the square.

I have done that so much, but its best to actual origami paper. A4 tends to be thicker which makes folds harder to do the more complicated the origami is.

My work desk is oak, making it a light background like your table, and i find I have to use a dark colored mat underneath the paper if i am using light colored paper. It really makes a difference for me. Just an idea ;)

Great job! Can you also provide the U.S. measurements (ie., inches)? Wondering if I can use scrapbook paper. They come in 8.5 x 11 and 12 x 12 inch sizes.

+iamgodgirl Hi! You can do this origami with any sized paper, just as long as it's square :) 20cm is 7.8 inches :)

iamgodgirl ? US measurement has centimeters too, i just used a normal ruler. I havent seen a ruler without centimeters.

I used approx 60# card stock (lighter weight end of the spectrum), and it turned out great. Thanks again! ONLY i found that i had to use my heavy duty wire cutters to cut the pentagon. Lucky i have a pair ^^;;

Correction, 65# . Vellum (and therefore #60 stock) was to light to hold anything substantial like candy.

The music sounds a lot like the one used in three games Perfect World. Btw, THERE IS NO CUTTING IN ORIGAMI.

There is no cutting involved in this model. This model starts with a pentagon, which oddly enough require you to cut the paper to shape. 'No cutting origami' is 'pure origami' - which is a new idea, not traditional one, look it up if you'd like.

Andy Zheng yes it is origami - at the start it's cut to a pentagon. Origami can start from many different shaped paper, during the folding, there is no cutting. Even if there was, origami doesn't excluded the use of cuts, that's 'pureland' origami which you can look up if you like, traditional origami had no such rule 🙂
