I loved the Mask movie as a kid but holy crap these would make such a cool movie/animated movie. Especially with all the violent hero stuff on Amazon prime. How do we pitch that?

Amazon has invincible comic its right up there alley i wouldn't be surprise if they have a mask comic faithfull animated in the works the way the comic is drawn has a unique look they should take influence from that and build it into the maniac psychotic 'the one that flew over the cuckoo's nest'/the shining esk with the ott comic book

I was into a lot of comics as a kid, but The Mask slipped under my radar until the movie was released. I didn't really read the comic until I could find it online for free. What a great comic book. If the movie was like this, it would've been so much better.

I’m hoping rob could do Ice cream man for Halloween. If any of you don’t know about it go and read it he is probably one of the most terrifying things ever. The best way I could describe it is imagine if the host of the o.g twilight zone has god like powers and is a complete monster. It’s a pretty incredible anthology. Again the comic is named: Ice cream man (I’m not joking.)

Yeah, Walter seems to personify this type of character from old Looney Tunes cartoons, who ignores all the wacky antics and simply punches Duffy or Bugs in the face as a literal punchline to their joke. When translated into "reality" this takes the form of his resistance or even immunity to all the crazy reality-bending and cartoon-physics stuff Big-Head can conjure. Walter simply doesn't care hard enough to overcome them. ^^

He doesn't talk at all, he's like Michael Myers. We don't really see him emote much outside of one instance where he smiles as he cuts his own face. Any other time he seens to feel nothing but the desire to get the Mask.

i theorize that the reason Kathy is such an ineffective Big Head is because she isnt a 'bad' person, not because she's inexperienced (the nobody mobster in the beginning here was a beginner too). or at least, she hasnt really been exposed to evil in her life. when Stan became BH, he started unleashing his pent up frustrations. he started doing the dark things he always imagined doing. then Kellaway was really effective as BH, because not only was he tactically smart, but as a detective, he'd spent his career surrounded by violence and murder. it was a part of life. not only is Kathy is a relatively normal person, but even after having worn the mask, she is desperately trying to fight its addictive effects on her. so of course she wont be able to tap into its full power. she refuses to let go, and let it give her that power.

I kinda feel the only way to kill Walter is like... making a really big bomb and either strapping it to him directly or making him eat it, idk. I'd imagine any kind of gun is useless, a bazooka might just send him flying but he'll get back up, and any sort of blunt or bladed object will either snap, bend or just 'get stuck in him' only for him to yank it out and toss it aside. I kinda want an origin for Walter but I think that would ruin the whole gimmick.

I remember watching a few episodes of the Mask cartoon and seeing a Walter like character. Large, Unemotional, Unstoppable, And when he did finally get to try on the mask nothing happened. I hope that's not the case in issue three.

To likely explain why Kathy wasn't doing so well with the mask is because she already knew about the insanity it brings so she's actively fighting against it, rather than letting the evil persona resting within take over and naturally use its abilities.

Yeah each person using the Mask has differing levels of resistance to it's influence. Kellaway and Kathy try to do good with the Mask so they have more instances of moral clarity and don't go as over the top as often. Someone like Stanley however just became obsessed with the power it gave him and let it take him for a joyride much more willingly and caused absolute carnage. I think everyone eventually succumbs to it's influence the longer they use it but Kathy and Kellaway managed to push back enough to give it up before things got past the point of no return.

@@caldw615 The Mask digs into and pulls at the worst of a person, those that are or try to be a 'good person' don't have the darkness with in to fuel the Mask's chaoic side. Those that are evil are eventally burn up from with in as the Mask consumes them. At a guess, maybe thats sort of a curse it has after being stolen from the tribe it belonged to?

All this comic tells me is, thanks to Walter, I can see that the comic book mask is extremely limited compared to his movie version. He can make anything. But he can't become stronger, faster or more durable. This is a really interesting read

actually the movie version is more limited. it's power only goes as far as the user's inners self can go. the comic version when not being restrained like when kathy was using it can pretty much do anything it wants and is unstoppable.

@@megamike15 just to spoil a little, but Walter faces more than one person with the Mask. None of them could take him out They usually run away. The movie is limited to just working at night. But movie Mask also displayed a lot of speed and strength to me.

THANK YOU for making these, they are very entertaining and not only are these videos keeping The Mask alive, but they are also keeping the hope for a REAL sequel alive. On your net video you should implore your fans to bug the writers and studio for a true sequel (bonus points for featuring Jim Carrey) OR a complete REBOOT (bonus points if it is as dark and gratuitously violent as the comics) The 2020s are a decade for REBOOTS.....they are throwing money away by not cashing in on the nostalgia craze of the 2010s-2020s era.

speaking of the origin of the mask, how about doing a review of the pre-series, "masque" - I haven't found much info on it, but it probably expands more on where the mask came from. To even read it, you apparently need to get a lot of back issues of Dark Horse Presents from 1987-ish.
