I completely agree - it is one of the best films I've ever seen. And I thought that it was the Best film of 2023. I was irate that it got no Academy Award nominations. But they say the truth hurts...even so-called liberal Oscar voters.

I agree. While I appreciate Ava adding the context of Isabel's life around writing the book, I would have loved a longer presentation on just the contents of the book itself; they skimmed over a lot to get it into a ~2.5 hr runtime.

I just watched this movie and all I have to say is Ava Duvernay always reaches down to your soul. I don’t know what to think but this movie did make me sad for everyone. The acting was phenomenal. Chef kiss 💋

I stayed up last night watching this. didnt know it was coming to Hulu and stumbled on it 11pm... watched it straight through. Honestly, I am biased. AET is a phenomenal actor and I kind of feel I love anything she's in. Even if she only in the frame waving. When I get a dramatic performance.... well, I am never disappointed. Knowing the film is... can we say derivative of the book and authors story- I think it was beautiful. AD did a great job writing this. I enjoyed watching this and why is this comment so long? my bad. Ijs. great film. I'll watch it again when I feel like crying again. kinda cried out rn. IW is still standing after all the loss... wowza. Respect to everyone involved in the project

I watched this movie one night knowing I had to get up for work by 530 am, no regret. I really enjoyed this movie it was compelling, inspiring and heavy at times. Great movie
