Original CAWS are not Original. 

We are all inspired by other characters. All of my CAW League and Roster are inspired by Video Game Characters, Real Life Wrestlers, Movie Stars, Reality Stars, Musicians, and Pop Culture in general. It's about making the most unique CAWs you can.

They are original characters LOL. Taking inspiration from something doesn't make it unoriginal. Wrestlers in real life mould themselves over past characters. And as far as you saying luchadore characters aren't original. You are basically saying Rey Mysterio isn't original.

Besides, we're using attires, hairstyles, tattoos, and other elements from established Wrestlers.

There is no originality in wrestling anymore whether it's the wrestling we watch on TV and the CAW Leagues we have! The best thing we can do now is make our CAWs basically like hybrid versions of the wrestlers that we have seen on TV!

And I can't tell you how many times I've created CAWs and months or years later I find an existing real-life wrestler has the same name. Names such as Blaze, Mercedes, Venom, etc.

By the way, I just had to change my CAW Leagues name several times just because somebody else had the same letters. I agree Original CAWs aren't Original.

I make all my caws look original, my own Caw Promotion/League is called Global Pro Wrestling. I been making my own Caws since old Smackdown games

It happens. We are all inspired by various wrestlers, comic books, you name it. As long as im happy with my work, thats all that matters.

Ironically, trying to be original, will kill the originality, in the long run. But, as long as we like our own CAWs, and find pleasure in them, isn't that what matters most, in the end? We'll find many versions of certain type of CAWs, so, when it comes to creation, get inspired, by what drives you, and do it, for your own sake, rather than by trying to please others. A nice video. Bro I can give less of a fuck on being original. I wanna be creative and stand out amongst the other caws. From a self proclaimed artist like me....nothing is original, there is gonna be something that you may think is original but has had been inspired or interpreted. It’s not easy being original and I find that even if you’re not original or whatever you make isn’t original; If you put your hard work, your soul into it whether it’s a painting, drawing, or in this case making a caw, then your creation has been made well with love and care. I only care to make cool caws, meet new friends who also makes caws, have fun and see other people’s outstanding work. I will however agree on the statement of people copy and pasting stuff and that is fucking retarted and an incredible dick move. It’s like basically recoloring someone’s artwork and claiming it as your own and that’s not cool. Anyway, awesome vid brah 👌

I would say that these caws are original because there only getting inspiration from wrestlers, movie star, musicians etc. Saying a caw isn’t original because it is similar to something or someone else is like says a musician isn’t original because they are the same music genre as another musician. (for example Eminem and snoop dog they both do hip hop but there still original aren’t they.)

I think your doing every caw maker, including yourself, a dis-service tbh mate. I agree that all charcters/gimmicks are based on pre-existing characters, but taking 2, 3 or even 4 places of inspiration and combining them can 100% be original. Take Riott as you did for your example, yes he was based on an amalgamion of Bane, Green Goblin and The Masked Warrior, but if you are the first creator to combine the 3, the that is deffinately an original conception, and an original CAW. Just me thoughts though man :)

I have made 1000s of original CAWs throughout every wrestling game I have played. Some are more unique. Some are more inspired. Some I just wing it and go with the flow. It all depends. Many of the ones I kept creating I liked in some way. There have been many one offs that just didn't stick. And by original I mean made up characters and not those based off real wrestlers or real people.

The Lord Humungus (Mad Max 2) and The Masked Warrior (Pit Fighter) are recurring characters that I often use in my CAW's! In fact, they convey an image of threat and evil in the ring!

Yeah I mean every form of art is inspired by someone or something. A lot of my caws are inspired by established wrestlers

I find it funny because I've came across the same tweet. Read it and found myself chuckling at the person accusing you of being a quote; "Passive Aggressive Bitch." Originally is a niche word for CAW. Yes all caws from from a base of you inspire this creation. It's the same with RPG's with Character Creations. Edit: So so many of the caw archtype you mention is so painfully obvious. Diva's, Shooters MMA, Pretty Boy/Kings. Too many.

You should be proud if someone copies ur caw. That simply means it's badass! 💯 I myself have been creating my 10 Original CAWs from WWF Smackdown! 2 on PSone to WWE2K on PS4. I've obviously added more CAWs throughout the years but I create my originals every year, kept the original movesets alongside yearly adaptations. 🙂 Honestly the creation mode has been my favorite part of most wrestling games.

Speaking the truth, brother! One of my long standing characters is named Evan Alpha. He started as an amalgamation of Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Johnny Gargano. Over the years, I've mixed in a little of the early Bullet Club Prince Devitt and he became something new. Everyone is "guilty" of it. There's nothing wrong with that, and inspiration comes from many places. Hell, in the most recent iteration, I designed a stable based around the concept of your stable Katana with other sources mixed in to make something new. Keep doing what you're doing, man. Originals most certainly aren't original!

Great video here and a great point. It's crazy when folks say original and get all pissy over it. None of them are original. But Pro Wrestling isn't original lol Even my CAW based on my Real Life wrestling gimmick whilst based on me isn't original other than looking like me lol. But it's one more fat guy in a singlet and clown paint. lol And my other creations... let's see... I have arrogant Brits, flamboyant characters, cocky heels, pretty boy faces, pretty swimsuit model divas, tough girls/guys, punks, rockstars, cops, prisoners, soldiers, luchadors, giants and pretty much every other archetype in between. There's even a tag team made up of Two Drag Queens and believe it or not, even this has been done before. Pro wrestling doesn't have original characters, because there's no such thing. But as you said yourself here, it doesn't matter if its a gimmick we have seen a million times over. It's about how you can make that character and gimmick entertaining and bring your own interpretation. Because that is what pro wrestling is. Its characters and stories, sure we've heard them before. But if you can add a new twist on the old classics... then you have entertainment gold. By the way, do you plan to make any 2k20 Caws?

Gotta admit I gave up on wwe games bc of 2k20 (don’t won’t 2k19 anymore or even 2k18) but watching this video reminded me of how much fun I used to have making my own caws and shows etc my own personal caw league was called Victory Line Pro Wrestling and I’ve been making caws since way back in the N64 games (my own two “original” caws were Alex Michaels (a character based on an amalgamation of The Rock, Razor Ramon, Superboy and most recently with a mix of AJ Styles, Cody Rhodes (Legacy version) and CM Punk (original ECW run) with me adding to the amalgam as the years went on and new things caught my eyes as well as Jay Shaw (a character who has changed extensively over the years who is based on myself so he’s changed with my own tastes over the years) you’ve just inspired me to bring back my VLPW and pick up 2k19 again so thank you lol

Good video to start that off my characters is base on a lot of other characters in the CAW universe and WWE for starters RFC the royal flush crew I came up with characters is by watching Mobile Fighter G Gundam I called my stable the shuffle alliance King of Hearts was originally a superhero but I end up being a wrestler Black Joker I made a joker type but the character was boring to me so I made him the green goblin type of character so that being said do you and looking forward to the next video.
