I had a problem with bad firmware from new and I followed your guide step by step with great success. My radio has been on my shelf for over a year and I was going to sell it, but all good now. Thank you. 😀🇦🇺
I made the mistake trying to update my radio to the latest firmware now I cannot bind to my X8R's I have many of them were can I find the older firmware to get my radio back to normal.. any help would be appreciated
I have done the same before but I bit the bullet and upgraded the firmware on the receiver. I have a video on that here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IryRVaSDrT4Y.htmlou can get the old firmwares here : www.open-tx.org/downloads Thanks for watching, have a great day!
Yes, that should not be a problem. You should also consider going to Edge TX which has more support these days : edgetx.org/getedgetx Either way you will need to update the firmware on any receivers you have. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
You're not completely right about the legality of the use of the transmitter with the old XJT firmware: because it was purchased before January 1st 2015 you can legally keep using the FCC firmware and are not required to flash the LBT firmware on it. However, if you make the change to ACCST v2.1 (advised) it is ofcourse a good idea to flash the LBT version as all receivers have to be flashed anyways and it makes purchasing new receivers easier (without having to flash firmware again when they come with ACCST v2.1 LBT firmware on it, when you buy them local that is). PS. The screen looks horrible and can probably be fixed by removing the plastic protective coating on it which will make it look much nicer again. 😉 Another thing, it looks like a 8 cel NiMH battery is used which gives a maximum voltage of 12 V. Flashing receivers from the transmitter might damage the receivers because most can't officially handle more than 10 Volts. Using 6 cel NiMH or 2S Lipo/LiFe is recommended when flashing receivers from the radio. Battery voltage is going straight to the JR bay, no voltage conversion is done. 😟
Thanks for watching and your constructive comments. The Tx belongs to a fellow club member so I will leave it to him if he wishes to tidy up the screen! I am aware of the battery voltage going directly to the module bay, I mention that in my Rx upgrade video. Please consider subscribing if you have not done so already!
Hello, I have xd9 with version 2.0.13 I got as far as to download version 2.0.19 but it fails and says.... "download failed. Server replied bad gateway" Do you know where I can find and download this latest firmware? Thanks.
The latest version is 2.3, you can get it here: www.open-tx.org/downloads You should consider going to Edge Tx instead : edgetx.org/about Thanks for watching, have a great day!
This process should work for you. Will need more information. At what point in the process does it fail? What firmware version is on the Taranis? Can you connect to a PC? RU-vid no longer shows me if you are subscribed. Please consider subscribing if you have not done so already!
Really awesome work, my friend! 😃 That's a really great radio. Mine is the newer, but still... Not much different. 😊 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I have the same Radio X9d ACCST, but my laptop does not recognize it, it only sounds when connecting and StM32 BOOTLOADER appears below but the radio does not appear how to solve this I have Windows 7
This usuallyhappens when you connect the radio switched off. To connect to OpenTx companion you should hold both canter trims to the middle and power on, then connect the USB cable. If it still appears as STM bootloader then you need to put a new bootloader on the radio see "method 3" here : www.horusrc.com/en/blog/unbricking-taranis-radios-with-opentx-operating-systems/ RU-vid no longer shows me if you are subscribed. @@remielmasloco Then as I said before you must change the bootloader on the SD card in the Tx. First use OpenTx companion to download the "*.bin" firmware file, then copy it to your SD card by removing the SD card from the Tx and putting in a card reader. Once you have the "*.bin" on the SD card put back in the Tx and flash it to your radio. This is shown here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KbpHb2_RXbk.html
