Song medley from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang performed by the original London cast: Michael Ball, Emma Williams, Anton Rodgers, Nichola McAuliffe and ensemble no copyright infringement intended
Oh wow the memories. I saw this show with my grandparents. My granddad died a year later. Planning to see the new tour and reconnect with both grandparents now my nans passed xxx
This was the first theatrical show I saw technically (I’m from the U.S. so I saw it on broadway aged 6), but I was too young to handle spectacle and me and my 3 year old sister became so freaked out that my parents had to take us out into the lobby for the rest of the show.
I went to see this at the Palladium - purely to meet Richard O'Brien who played the child-catcher (originally). I also met Michael Ball,Anton Rodgers & Nichola Mcauliffe. Brian Blessed left through a different door.
As someone who never had the opportunity to see the stage show - but truly adores the original film - thank you sincerely for posting this. It's good to put faces to the voices from the cast album.
I'm really lucky to be able to do this show for my senior show this year. We've got a car, dog puppets, and birds (Because my director is crazy). I'm so happy to be doing this, because it's one of my all-time favorite shows and movies.
I saw the touring production. Martin Kemp was the child catcher. Choreography was very good. And Brian conley played grandpa. But you could see how the car flew.
I really hope that the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle will Recreate the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang stage production. If you look on Wikipedia you can see that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the musical got bad reviews. Hopefully the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle will correct this in the future and make this stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a better version. I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Tacoma Musical Theater Playhouse in November of 2015 and I like it. Since I liked it so much until one year later in summer of 2016 I told the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle all about my visit at the Tacoma Musical Theater Playhouse and I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and I told them I like it and I've ask them if they can recreate the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang stage production by taking the best stuff from the book, movie and original productions from both London and on Broadway.
I don't remember if there is any tv performance wth Richard but you can definitely see him in the "Making of..." dvd that was released. :) (and there are some bootleg clips around as well)
Richard looked & was amazing as the Childcatcher. He had problems getting into his net rigging near the end of the show & we had a laugh about it after the show had ended. I've still got the programme with some great pics of him in it.
This specific performance confuses me when it comes to the kids Cause you’d think they’d designate two children to do all the press AND the cast recording as they would’ve been known to be Jeremy and Jemima even tho there are three teams of kids
If it's really the _original_ Original London Cast, as appear on the OLC album, Jeremy was played by George Gillies and Jemima by Carrie Hope Fletcher, who went on to play Truly on the UK tour last year.
