@@justarandomsovietofficerwi2023 in actual minecraft lore I dont think herobrine exists but I'm pretty sure steve is getting some PTSD from something down there
The actual sounds aren’t all that scary, but once you think about the context and the theories about why they are caused, it gets real spooky real fast.
The thing is that in horror games and movies we are expecting a scary thing to happen, when you are playing Minecraft you honestly don't expect the cave sounds because the game itself is not scary, it's just the cave sounds are a unexpected horror aspect of this otherwise peaceful game.
I'm not lying when im saying that i once while mining in a mineshaft heard cave 17 and i instantly turned to the slope rails behind me and i waited for something to approach as i selected my sword I was scared shitless Thats the only super rare sound i heard
"Miners death upon crash" "Last breath of one of the miners" "Creeper breathing before explosion" "Creeper explosion that started crash" "Another minecart crashing into maincart killing the miners" I'm just imagining all this and how these have some sort of story behind them.
Damn WHEN I heard cave sound 14 I legit closed Minecraft and snatched the nearest Bible around me. I didn't know Minecraft caused the sound and I had just finished watching a horror movie
I remember the first time I heard one of the sounds, I closed the game and I didn’t opened it for three weeks. I’m 16 years old now, but I have to admit it, if I hear the cave 13-17, I’ll uninstall the game.

You are the best person ever. You need more appreciation. Literally, I mean it. There’s very few people in this world that are just kind enough sometimes. Like you. Thanks a bunch!
And disc 13 as well. The bells at the beginning of the disc could symbolize the funeral of the miners that have passed in the crash. Maybe the sounds of the water droplets and creeper hiss are parts of a recounting of the incident from a miner that survived. Stricken with grief and fear. Knowing he’ll never get that hiss out of his head.
1:13 I was playing Minecraft and I was looking around in a cave when I heard that noise. I got scared and I ran out of there. I was looking at footage later. I forgot I was recording when I ran out. and while looking at the footage I saw a creeper, standing there, staring at me at the back on the other side of the pit. I didnt notice it because it was covered by darkness. I felt sick when I heard cave sound 14 and what it could mean. Today, I think that creeper could have fulfilled cave sound 14. But a part of me is saying "Nah. Your 13. Think of something else."
Minecraft’s cave sounds don’t even fit Minecraft itself, but the thing is that the fact they’re in the game makes it horrifying. Was the cave ambience introduced in the Pretty Scary Update? Edit: Can we please get some love for the underrated ocean ambience? Rarely anyone knows they exist because cave ambience stole the spotlight.
Good theory And whatever creature that is It must have been very terrifying As the supposed miner survivor desperately block it by making a wall and/or digging away from it since this miner hit a wall or a dead end
My theory on that one is Steve trying to find out what this monster is(enderman) by looking in he’s book but then he looks it in the eyes and it comes after him. He tries to place all he’s blocks to block it off but little does he know this creature can teleport and then Steve(or some other player, or Steve) gets killed.
@@snorre-849 good theory, had the same one too but I think this creature is not an Endermen, we didn't hear any Endermen scream so maybe it is a much more sinister creature we haven't come across with (not in game) My theory is that there were no Endermen in those times on that audio recording
This video alone is more creepy than every horror game combined. I mean imagine just playing Minecraft peacefully and then one of the Super Rare sounds occure
Playing Minecraft in singleplayer on peaceful at night is an experience. There’s nobody out there. The villagers are sleeping and the pigs don’t usually spawn at night. Go into a forest at night on peaceful in singleplayer. There’s nothing. Nothing at all. Just the trees. The caves are also scary. There’s nobody in there.
My theory is that herobrine isn’t real He’s just a vision of Steve who has ptsd from all his miner friends dying That’s why all the cave sounds are so scary Because Steve is remembering his friends dying Perhaps herobrine is how Steve sees himself after letting the miners die An evil, twisted, version of himself That’s why you can never find herobrines code He doesn’t really exist He never really did It’s all just Steve’s ptsd
Or herobrine is Steve’s best friend who he let die and now Steve is hallucinating that his best friend is trying to get him. But ur theory was better lol
I started playing when I was 22 and the noises still freak me out when I’m in a dark cave 😆 always makes me stop and look around to make sure nothing is there
I first though it was of a train whistle, because they used to use trains and mine carts down in coal mines. Then I though about the crash theory, and what if Steve and alex (the player) got in a crash (minecart crash) and they hit their heads on stone or something and now they are (haunted by the sound of the crash and all of the people who were in the minecart with them during the crash.
0:55 Is the one that scares me the most, especially because it's the most sudden and high pitched of them all, which makes it sound like a jumpscare is incoming. Great theory, though.
Dude same! I remember playing minecraft in flatlands all by myself just messing around and that sound used to play and it reminded me how alone i am in the world and creeped me tf out to the point id just stop playing
0:55 I heard this when I was building a roller coaster in the endless world. I thought it was about the circle I built, then I got scared and thought I summoned Herobrine. I freaked out and changed the shape. I soon then left my world. Now I realized that I knew that cave sounds were enabled and I was near a cave. I thought cave sounds were real life cave sounds, not that. When I heear it now, I remember that time I heard the sound. That sound freaks me out to this day.
What if Steve was one of the miners in the crash but the only survivor and he is the only one that makes is out of the cave. He awakes and has no memory about his past life and just thinks that he just exists but he is still Haunted by the crash and that’s why we hear the caves sounds because something triggers his PTSD for me Minecraft sometimes even plays the caves sounds when I am in the Over world during the day. probably because I spend a lot of time in caves.
14 I feel like it's a GLITCHED ENTITY WATCHING YOU 24/7 and you only notice him because caves are really echoy. Also at the end of it, it kinda sounds like a faint scream witch is really spooky and actually scares me One year later edit: why did I put those in all caps and didn't bother to put a time stamp and thus is a reply not its own comment?!
Even though it seems there is no official lore to Minecraft. You have to agree there is some story playing out before your adventure. There are Sunken ships: indicating previous settlers (possibly villagers?) The 3 Temples, Jungle, Desert & Ocean monument must have some background to a previous civilization. The End city also has an airship. Maybe some settlers in the End? Presumably trapped or born there? The abandoned mine shafts could’ve been used by a guild of others before your adventure. Some Shrines underwater in the ocean biome must’ve belonged to the previous inhabitants. I know these we added for no real purpose for a story but you can definitely make up your own lore to Minecraft.
Dont forget the zombies and the skeletons probably giving more evidence to the idea that there was a previous civillization and something bad happend to it this is all reminding me so much of the bronze age collapse now that i think about it
Theory 1:There were survivors of the crash. Most likely because you can hear that breathing sound which was the badly injured miners slowly losing blood and dying. One of the miners, who wasn't horribly injured, went deeper into the cave to get help. This leads up to the recording of disk 11 where he is killed by a enderman. After this, disk 13 ties in by the church bells you can hear, most likely funerals for the miners, or maybe a separate incident in the mines? This kinda makes sense because all the mines are abandoned, most likely shut down. The sounds you hear are the final memories of the miners before their deaths. Theory 2: Steve, alex, and another miner were in a cart together. When the crash happened, they all survived, but anybody else they could find was dead. The other miner decided to go deeper in the cave to find any other survivors, while steve and alex went to escape the mine. Like i said in the previous theory, disk 11 is involved with the miner that went deeper, where he was killed. Steve and alex did escape, but steve fell down a deep hole in the mine, hitting his head and losing his memories. This explains the sounds as flashbacks, that steve, despite his memory loss can hear. This also explains how alex and steve don't ever see each other, as alex ventured away into the wilderness. Steve eventually walks out, where the game starts for us. Maybe herobrine is involved, and he was part of the crash. Idk guys, let your imaginations run wild.
Generic white kid the second Wooden swords are the only sword that requires not going near any stone blocks. I could have gone with iron, but of course, I used all of my iron on pickaxes to actually obtain the ore in the first place and I had no intentions on staying in the mine when I heard the sounds.
I’m going to try to put the sounds in order of events to listen to them that way I’m sorry if I got the sequence wrong, please do not be angry. 0:58 Cave 11 0:34 Cave 6 0:00 Cave 1 0:11 Cave 3 0:52 Cave 9 0:25 Cave 5 1:03 Cave 12 0:56 Cave 10 1:12 Cave 14 1:24 Cave 15 1:32 Cave 16 1:40 Cave 17 0:19 Cave 4 1:06 Cave 13 1:52 Cave 18 0:48 Cave 8 0:04 Cave 2 0:41 Cave 7
if you put cave sound #14 into a spectrogram, it reveals a creeper face so i think that speculation is right, for "creeper breathing before explosion" to be fair, i think it's more of an ancient creeper "language", because it kinda sounds like a voice
I have a theory related to this. So one minecart had twin brothers:Steve and Brian. They were hit in the crash but both survived it. Steve hits his head hard though and is knocked out and loses his memory. Brian hits his back on the rock wall. Then Brian hears strange noises and runs away from it deeper in the cave. This is the events of disc 11. Some evil dark force travels in his body and consumes him with evil. He is now known as Herobrine. Steve wakes up and leaves the cave. He walks around until you the player starts the game. All cave sounds are memories trying to come back.
With Cave 17, you can hear the klinking of pickaxes, I thought this was a GTA reference at first because it's simular to the sound GTA makes when you die, but I think the pickaxes sounds more likely. My first thought was that the klinks was just more miners working, but after thinking about it, it's probably not right. The thing is, if some minecarts did crash, the miners probably didn't keep mining and pretending nothing happened, the minecarts might've hit a bunch of miners, they dropped their pickaxes and died. To refute this point, there was no sound of bodies falling, just pickaxes, which could mean that only the mincart operators died in the crash. This can be shown by the fact that there was only 2 klinks of pickaxes falling on the floor. The most likely thing that happened was that 2 minecarts hit each other, the operators of each mincart died and dropped their pickaxes upon death.
OWO ok hear me out steve and alex and herobrine were in this the minecart crashed herobrine died and they both survived and now they getting flashbacks
Exactly. Like I can understand how some of the sounds might sound like wind echoing through a cave or things like water flow sounds echoing (even if there may not be a water source around but whatever) but a lot of these sounds are simply not natural.
And this is exactly why I turned cave sounds off when I was 10 and still have them off to this day. I can deal with horror perfectly fine but something about how innocent, wholesome and fun minecraft is just makes it terrifying to hear these sounds in a cave playing by yourself
Yo Minecraft on PS3 hit different. Still have fond memories of one of my earliest worlds and all of my friends playing on it. Like, I remember the worlds so vividly and the houses we all had. One guy didn’t even speak English, but he still wanted to play with us and stuck around. We learned little bits of Spanish so we could talk with him (granted, we were like 12 or something like that), Damn, so many memories...
@@dfquartzidn6151 Well we were all in Middle school and we had those like basic Spanish classes, so we figured we might as well pay attention and talk with him a little bit
