Anybody ever think about how rough Link's life really is? The dude is traumatized by having to save the world over and over, and he gets reincarnated every time to do it all over again. No wonder he doesn't talk

The problem was that he became a main character

This is the way they should have presented the diary entries of the King, Zelda, Mipha, Urbosa, Revali and Daruk.

Honestly, this makes one question about Link's personality a lot. At least i do... Imagine having a bright and fun childhood. Being able to do all the fun stuff you like, mostly because you are "The child of prophecy, who banishes the darkness of legend". But only to get completly reduced to that destiny. What you have to become. Fun or hobbies, friends or anything you had in mind for your future is stripped away from you violently. You have no choice other than obey what you have to become. Noone shows mercy, noone even tries to understand. Only seeing the tool to their own well being. Wouldn't you start to fall silent? Or stop smiling? Unable to feel free of any sort, until you finally are able to fullfill your destiny? Or.. perhaps even break free from it? This doesn't only apply to Link, if you think about it. Zelda most certainly displayed how much pressure was put on her. And if you think back to Windwaker you can tell that Ganondorf too isn't pleased about Demises curse. I really feel sorry for them...

Honestly kind of sad. Link used to be such a happy person and used to talk but after becoming the champion the hero that will slay Ganon he became cold and blank because he didn't want to show his emotions in order to seem like a true hero because of the pressure. Makes you realize how much link must be dying on the inside. Edit: totally wasn't expecting all the comments back, I'm also rather curious was it just the pressure that made Link go into silence or did something happen to him where he felt like he didn't want to speak because it be too painful to talk about?

his expression depicted at 2:44 is masterful. Other people might depict "shook his head" as a disapproving or dismissing kind of demeanor, but it's clear here it's more of a reassuring very subtle smile.

I like how you used Fi's theme from skyward sword to give the impression that Link had the Master Sword

Link and Mipha are supposed to be like the same age, also I just kinda thought it was funny how Mipha said "his newly acquired height" but in the game he's literally short af, but impressive work nonetheless

Child Link looks a little too old. I was imagining something closer too OOT link, or Baby Sidon. Great job though. Would love to see the other champion's diary entries. Especially Revali's. Mipha is still my favorite one.

Wow. When I first saw the video appear in my recommend list, I thought it would be one of those comedic shorts where the female character is writing in her diary about her crush and her crush walks in and she tries to hide it from him. But instead, I got a very sad and yet beautiful and moving little story about Mipha noticing Link being an adorable and happy child, and eventually changing into a man of few words, less smiles, and a hint of something troubling him. And personally, I like that type of video better. Thank you.

This left me speechless. I've invested so much time in this game and is my favorite game of all time, so this video just blew me away. You get a snippet of this vast universe brought to life with the power of art including the music which is used so well. Apart from looking slightly older then in-game I am a huge fan of this art style holy crap hats off to your talent. The music links are greatly appreciated I haven't played skyward sword so I haven't heard fi's gratitude. I truly thank you for this amazing video I can't believe I'm only now seeing it.

Mipha radiates a sweetness that I just can't help but be endeared by. The world of Hyrule doe have a way of destroying such traits. Only the strongest keep them. Mipha has to be right there at the top.

I think Mipha's story is like when you never made any bad, you were such a lovely and kind person with a pure heart and all you made in your life was caring for the other's good and the only reward life gives to you is the death...

I'd always hoped to see more effort in the diaries for each of the champions, but I was so disappointed that it was just...reading... No art, no music...just words. I thought the way you brought Mipha's diary to life, not to mention the beautiful art and added music, made it so much more satisfying and enjoyable. I am floored at the beautiful video and am looking forward to see if you've created others. To be honest, Urbosa and Mipha were my favs! So thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤

I just noticed the slight purple shading on Links back as he's walking to Zora's domain- is that to represent the burden of being the only one who can truly destroy calamity Ganon? Because he's the only one who can use the sword that seals the darkness- and purple is a colour often seen in the malice so I just thought it had a big meaning-

Mipha is my favorite. She was the first I freed from the divine beast. She's so helpful during battles. Btw nice animation! I love it!

Beautiful, but the facial expressions not the same as the diary... I think something is different. He seemed angry when he come back to zora's domain, but int he diary he is serious and distant.

There's a difference between looking through someone, and looking into their very soul. To look past someone else, into the distance, it could mean you're not interested in them specifically... To look into them, into the very heart of this person, it could mean you want to meet their true self, even see the true potential of them. I think you'll have to find this kind of wisdom on your own, to truly see what is meant by it, but... A hint would be; how does a god see his very own children? And... How does a wolf see his own mate? Edit; However... It's probably just him thinking about the past lives he's had... Recapping the events of his mistakes and triumphs over the eons... Link was a god before, btw... Alongside Hylia, he fought in the first battle against the traitors of the gods... Only to lose her in the end...

I appreciate the hard work put on this and it is amazing. However I have a problem with the drawing. I don't even know how to draw but I think you didn't got right the characters age. At Breath Of the Wild link is not an adult yet, he's more like an adolescent (judging by his appearance) and you draw it more like an big man. Also when you drew him has a child it didn't looked much like one, it was more like an adolescent. This is just my opinion and I think it can make you improve. Keep up whit the great work! 👍 (Sorry for the misspelling)

Link has almost always bore great swordsmanship. Maybe almost every reincarnation of Link/the Hero, they get feelings or flashes of the past and/or future, and that's why they are quiet. There has been far too much loss and suffering, the weight of responsibility and the weight of the world's fate in his hands, just him. BotW's link supposedly explains that he's quiet because he just speaks when necessary and he wants to focus on his goals. Maybe he willfully gave up happiness or his childhood to devote himself to duty and sacrifice for the sake of the princess, kingdom, or more likely, the world. It's no wonder Mipha wants to give herself to Link, who carries the burden of the world, the burden of a seemingly endless cycle of rebirth and fighting evil, while possibly experiencing pain of losing those close to him. Did he get premonition of loss? Who knows. But one thing's for sure, the links who were not close to people around them in other games, may not have experienced loss quite like BotW. And maybe that's why Link is distancing himself and being like a rock. It makes it a bit easier to just become a sword of justice and not be human. Being a hero of justice is hard and harsh.

With Link being an actual character in this one, its kinda disappointing how he was still void of character. The group photo tho got me good... BOTW is just a general sad game. ;-;
