I recently came across a Nikon EN-EL14A I bought online (eBay-Shipped from China), which is almost identical to the original one and was advertised/captioned as a "Genuine Nikon EN-EL14A". I never doubt ordering one, since I used to buy items there and always got satisfactory experience of receiving a real product.
(Fast forward) After having the item, I became suspicious (but it really looks like the original at first glance), so I did a thorough inspection and put it side-by-side with the ones that I've got, i quickly then discovered some design irregularities.
I've contacted the seller and he insisted that this is a Japanese version (OEM) of the battery, but i further doubt when i visited the official Nikon website about counterfeit batteries and some forums online.

Do you have this battery? Please hit the comment below of what you think it is (genuine or fake), because it's almost perfect but lacks some design features from the original.
If you're gonna ask me about the performance, I've tried using it and it seems fine, it can hold power for a significant period of time, but I never tried to use it again after it drained.
