Shiny engine bay, like it was rolled off the assembly line. :) The F&F movies were a mixed blessing in many ways. With the first few being released, we car fans were spoiled ... then eventually disappointed with the shift in tone. Police started getting very citation happy and would pull over many people driving a car that wasn't a boring color. Red car going the speed limit? Doesn't matter. Woo-woop!

This is so cool and brought back many old vibes. I am 39 years old from NJ and also had DSM in the same era. Although mine was a 2g n/t in Kalapana Black, it was still a fun car to own. When he mentioned Sprint Springs, what a throwback I had thought people forgot about them. I remember opening the Nopi magazine and it was either those or Dropzone springs. I can also relate his feelings towards body kit. Mine had a full Bomex Body kit that kept falling apart... I gave up on the car after a couple years and had gotten a new Srt-4.... My current modified cars are now an Audi B5 S4 and a W124 Benz... I am looking for a Eclipse again just to relive those moments.. but plan on keeping it clean. I wonder if we ever spoke at one point on DSMtuners back then ..... - Small World -

I wanted to say that I really liked this video! It brings back so many memories of owning my 97 GSX back in this era. I've actually gotten onto some Facebook groups trying to find my old GSX but have hit dead ends. Miguel, I know you are big into this community. Is there any chance I could maybe share some info about my car to see if you you'd have any luck asking around? I'd really love to find my actual car and if it's still in one piece, maybe even try to get it back!

I inherited my dads 1997 eagle talon TSI AWD about a year ago after it had sat for a few years not running. I just had the motor rebuilt with a balance shaft delete. Best thing is, he kept the entire exterior OEM and I intend to keep it that way.

How did he finance a $30,000 car at 17? You have to be atleast 18 to sign any legal contract and even at that have established credit... I know because I tried this when I was 17 with a 97 GSX and was told to take a walk 😂🤣

Man If he'd have kept his 99 stock that thing would be worth mega bucks, would have given slipping times 1g a run for its money on most expensive dsm ever. I missed the OG days by 6 years, but even in the late 2000's man stuff was cheap cheap and everywhere.
