He had a clear focus which is to promote Warwickshire English as spoken by Shakespeare. But Burbage wasn't from that part of the country. No doubt he spoke it more as he himself spoke which was probably London.

Auto captions really hate the Welsh accent.

Why's he speaking with what sounds like a bad attempt at an American accent now? If you look at his older videos, he has his original Welsh accent, then he has a southern English accent. I have to say I can't quite take him seriously - like a lot of theatre actors he is quite over the top at times and Uber theatrical. It comes across as a persona he's adopted, and it's hard to see who the real person actually is.

I haven't followed him for a long time but it's possible he's speaking in a way that's easier for an international audience who might have trouble with english in general, let alone a welsh accent?

Dude. This just makes Shakespeare so much more easy to interpret, accessible, digestible, it brings out the color of the characters, and IT'S MUSICAL. The flow of the words has a more human rhythm and flow to it more like a soloist, and less like a drummer.

I’ve hated Shakespeare all my life up until finding out about this man and his father

When I was there I remember how he entranced the audience. It doesn’t translate completely through the recording. It’s so close though. Favorite ted talk I’ve seen.

I am so frustrated. Once I found a video of actual actors in costume on stage giving an example of Shakespeare in OP. It was delightful and I wanted to show it to some of my friends. I cannot find it. Now, all I can find is mostly Ben or his Dad or both talking about Shakespeare in OP and sometimes giving a very short example. OR, other people talking about Shakespeare in OP, some with no examples, and some with very short examples. Lot's of talking, very short examples. Is there anywhere a video where there are actors on stage (not just their pictures) but actual actors in costume giving an example of acting Shakespeare in OP?

Nostalgia is a modern, coined word to describe home sickness in modern pathological terms. First observed in America among recent immigrants in the early 1900's, the word was coined just 100 years ago and quickly was broadly adopted I'm the rest of the English speaking world.
