John Bubniak's face just goes so well with Yuri Lowenthal's voice. There's an emotional maturity and sincerity that is synergistic in this combination.

The whole point of making this Peter 24, was to show the effect all of the events had on his life already - and Bubniak's face does literally that. At the amount of daily stress Parker goes through, he should look older than Jordan does.

The only way I see Ben Jordan's face to work is giving him the remastered peter a beard in which I've seen some mods and it works more for Ben Jordan's peter.
Nothing against Ben Jordan but I'm so used to John Bubniak's face for Peter Shame they couldn't keep him around but Yuri Lowenthal is an absolute legend
Insomniac's official stated reason for the change was that the new actor gave the model more natural and expressive facial animations, but personally speaking I don't feel nearly as emotionally attached to the new model
@Stickman Guides it was totally the other way around. It was very apparent during the Aunt May death scene where Jordan face kept blinking too much while showing a more dissapointed face while Bubniak face had a downright crying emotional look

I love how old and tired the old model looks, he actually looks like he’s been Spider-Man for 8-9 years! He has eye-bags, and just overall looks like he isn’t perfect. And then there’s the new face, Perfect jaw, skin, hair Everything about him looks Like he’s a Teenager not an Adult.
Ik they really tried to do a ton holland look a like switcharoo on us😭 the old one just suits Yuri’s voice more, along with just the look of a guy whose been doing this for a while
@@burstingturtle absolutely, the reason they put out didn't even make sense, something about this new guy matching better with the voice actor's facial movements and voice, but he clearly doesn't based off the Remastered game, and the only reason this looks a little weird is because it isn't made for the old model, but would work way better if it had been
If you look closely you'll see his nose is also crooked from all his fights, which is not seen on the newer model. More time was spent making the old model actually look like he's been through his years of battle, while the new one looks like your average teen.
I agree with this but only in the Miles game. I think the face looks far more dynamic and expressive in the remastered game than the original face. For some reason both Peter and Miles face in the rooftop sequence looks plastic and lacks expressive detail. It's odd because you would think the faces would look better in the Miles game but imo both Miles and Peter look better in the remastered addition. The new Peter face looks fantastic in the remastered and he looks significantly older than Miles in that game. The issue is them aging Miles up without adding any aging to Peter. I just played both games again back to back a few days ago and the issue really is the Miles game. He looks 2-3 years older in the Miles game and is significantly taller even though only a few months have passed since the first game in game world. That is what makes everything look odd. It has nothing to do with the new face. It's what they did to Miles.

John Bubniak's face is THE one for Peter. It fits him so much better and matches the voice. He actually looks older, stressed out, tired.. all the things. With the new face he looks even younger than Miles and it just doesn't feel right.
I'm not even trying to be a hater, but objextively the old model looks so much better. The excuse that Ben Jordan's face was more expressive Yuri's face capture has to be a lie because John's face conveys far more with just his eyes. Can't wait to get a PC one day so I can replay these games with these amazing mods.
@@itdobelikedattho8112 I thought that was just for Remastered since the whole original game had John's face (the old face) entirely, and they designed Miles Morales to have Ben's face (new face).
Seeing the new trailer for Spider-Man 2, it's not just the fact they had to "mod" over the original. Peter's face still looks so plastic. Regardless of whether I think changing it was necessary, the fact is that - compared to every other character, every other AAA game, and Bubniak's original expressive face - Peter's face is so bland now.

When it clearly can be done with a f**king mod. Peter's face change is one of the most dumbest decisions ever in the games industry. Insomniac needs to be reminded that they're all a bunch of liars and they need to be more honest and admit that the real excuse is to make him look like Tom Holland. I will not sleep until they admit this and change him back. Edit: they could have remastered anything such as adding ALOT MORE puddles, but Peter's face was not one of them!!
Insomniac's explanation is that they wanted to improve the game to make use of PS5 technology. So they redid scenes. However, they needed to use another actor's face because it worked better for the new face capture tech.
Okay. First of all, very impressive mod that you put on the original Peter's face. It honestly took me by surprise. Second, I would put a 10/10, but there's something that kinda bothers me: the hair that it floats and the way he put the mask on. Honestly, they could fix some patches there. But overall, I really glad modders did the possibly impossible for Peter's face.

I miss it. It matches the voice so well. It’s the older mentor parker that you can really believe went through so much and experienced being spider-man.
The new face looks a lot better in Spider-Man 2 than it did in Miles Morales but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss the old one. The old one will always be my favorite.
Among the many reasons to prefer the original face is the fact that the new Peter Parker face actually looks younger than Miles. It makes absolutely no sense when the original face fit so perfectly.
For the rest of the game, John Bubniak's face is amazing. But when it comes to the Science Fair bump-up, Ben's face can stay. Because it makes Peter look a tad bit younger.
I don't know what people saying about the original face Peter looks like he could be 30. He honestly looks like he could be 19 at youngest. The new face just looks like he's 17-16

I love it and the slightest errors can be corrected, the truth is that they had chosen a perfect face, it was different from all the Peters we saw but at the same time with an air of each one, you could tell on his face the years he has been with him, unlike the new one that looks like tom holland with 15 years, without a doubt one of the worst errors of insomiac, it didn't even come out but I'm already waiting for the pc version of spiderman 2 to put some mod of this peter xd
I like the old version it because you can actually see that there is a age gab between miles and peter but with the new version of peter is like there almost the same age

It looks really great. For Miles Morales it's only 1 or 2 scenes with Peter though, so I wonder how realistic this would be to do for Spider-Man 2. I hope it happens one day :)
It’s amazing 🤩, it kinda felt welcoming to see the OG ps4 Peter back, it’s like he really returned from like a multiverse madness or something. When I saw Ben as Peter, it felt weird especially when he kissed MJ in the first game, it felt like John’s Peter died or went to a different dimension. It felt like he really replaced John’s Peter
AH HELL NAH I MISS HIM SO MUCH 😭😭😭 I know when they changed his face for the remaster a lot of people were like "Its just a game. get over it." and for a while I did accept the new face for what it is now, but you cant argue with the fact that its a completely different face. This is the Spider-man I spent the whole ass game with and seeing a new face in MM and SM2 is distracting.
Man this almost got me cried. I really miss John Bubniak face, i know the new actor probably more handsome and got this face that could attract young audience but as a Spider-Man fan, you know how happy i was when someone point out that John Bubniak face looked like a mix of Tobey, Andrew, and Tom Spider-Man? when i saw that post, i really appreciate Insomniac Spider-Man even more because it felt like they really know what they're doing with the Peter Parker of Spider-Man. To me Spider-Man is not about the Spider-Man only, the Peter Parker side of Spider-Man is what makes Peter Parker, and when i played the PS5 Remastered Spider-Man and seeing the new face, that feeling when i played the PS4 one was gone, and it really doesn't feel like the same Spider-Man again and more of trying to be Tom Holland Spider-Man rip off. I for real after finished the PS5 version and then played the PS4 version again, i feel Peter Parker emotions much more on the John Bubniak PS4 one rather than Ben Jordan PS5. No matter how i'm trying to get used to the new face, i always think that John Bubniak is still the Peter Parker that i know from the game. This is quite a let down for me, and i don't know how to feel about the new upcoming Spider-Man 2. Thank you for this legendary Mod, if there's ever a chance you could mod for the Spider-Man 2 you're a more than amazing man.
The new Parker face looks too much like a high school kid. Reminds of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. He gives off that still learning his powers vibe that dosen't really work with the whole mentoring Miles Morales situation.
Honestly, the original face was perfect. Fitted Yuri Lowenthal's voice and the tone and setting of the game. Still pisses me off that they decided it was a good idea to change it
I’m surprised that insomniac didn’t take the criticism to the point where they reverted back to the original face. Sure it must be expensive to replace the face, but no offense to Ben Jordan, but his face doesn’t match the voice of Yuri. Johns face matches better with Yuri’s voice. Nobody had issues with the original face.
I hope in Spider-Man 2 Peter looks older than here and has slightly longer hair, I don't expect them to return to the old face or anything but I think making it look a touch more like Yuri himself as opposed to just the new model may help
I do think the new model is easier to remaster and the hair and everything looks more realistic, but I do think the original one looks older. But with a few changes I think the new one will benefit the graphics more. It does need some changes though, make him look a bit older like the original one. But yeah the first time I played the game back when it released I thought something on peter's face was off, it didn't look as realistic as the other characters of the game idk why. But the story and the game was so good I got emotionally attached to it😅
Tbh I played on ps4 and thought the face was good but imo I prefer the new face. And to those who say he looks too young I say to you that there are plenty of people in this world that look why younger than they are.
Bubniak's face is great but the mods always seem to make his eyes a slightly too reflective and his face a bit robotic in his expressions, I know it might probably be due to some limitations but other than that I am so glad these mods exist
People always tell me: "You just have to get used to the new face" But I genuinely can't. The face just doesn't match. It looks too perfect, it doesn't match the voice and Peter just looks WAY too young not only for his age, but also his actual life-style. The old face was just perfect. It fit the voice, the character, the logic of how Peter WOULD look if he was Spidey for 8 years.
Who else here is looking forward to the Spider-Man 2 PC release where modders can fix all the trainwreck decisions Insomniac made in the name of diversity?
If modders can do it, I don't understand why Insomniac can't. Seriously, I really hope they at the very least give us an option to change the faces in Spider-Man 2, as John Bubniak's face would go incredibly well while Peter has the symbiote with him. I really don't wanna get the vibes of a pissed off teenager Ben Jordan's face is gonna give if they solely stick with him.

I legit can't see Ben Jordan's face being symbiote affected angry in Spider man 2. I can imagine john's face pulling that off, but really cant imagine ben's.
MAN, WOW, and just like that I feel much more emotionally attached when Peter is talking to Miles... I dunno, IT JUST FEELS RIGHT! seeing Bubniak's face, he makes Peter look older, this is a Peter that's been Spidey for YEARS, looking at Ben's face doesn't give me that impression, Ben looks the same age as Miles does, certainly not older than Miles like Bubniak looks. Once again modders come through and deliver what fans want 🙏 love this, I wish Insomniac would listen, I don't understand how improving the facial technology meant losing this and I wouldn't have made the change after getting fans so attached to the old model.
I dunno but as a player who played the remastered version first because i play pc, the new face looks "normal" to me. And i feel weird for the old face. Not saying that its bad but i didn't get used to it. So this whole face thing is just psychologic effect.
I actually prefer the new face. I think it looks great in Spiderman Remastered. He looks a little younger than the old face but significantly older than Miles. I think they issue is more with Miles game itself. It's only been less than a year since Miles got his powers but he is significantly taller and looks much older in the Miles Morales game than he looked in the original Spiderman game. The first time we see the new face was in cuts of the Miles game. So yeah it looks odd that they look so close in age but i find that having everything to do with Miles being aged up way too drastically between games. Also why does Miles still sound like he is prepubescent? Even in the Spiderman 2 gameplay he has this prepubescent voice? He sounds younger in his own game than he did in the first Spiderman game. Then again I'm not a fan of Miles face depiction in either game. I would have preferred he looked more like what they went for in Spiderverse. I just think he looks very basic, isnt very attractive and doesnt look sufficiently biracial.

The character in the game looks off, plastic, and way to artificial. When you compare his design to Peter, Doc Oc, Norman Osborn and even Phin his face lacks the details and human expression of those characters. The thing is he looked fine in the first game but whatever they did to age him up just looks strange.
