Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck 1999 vs Original Rider Waite Tarot Pack 1993 

Thanks for this. I bought the 1993 deck in my 20s with ambitions to learn to read but I never did. 25 years later I'm finally giving tarot some proper attention and the variety of decks is overwhelming. It's good to know the deck I've kept in the back of a drawer this whole time is a good benchmark for quality, and to know a bit about where it fits in the whole modern publishing timeline

I'm def a fan of older deck card stock. I even like how they wear, and get that fabulous well loved and used look and feel.. 😊

Owned the 1993 original RW deck , it was my first deck ! Agree that cardstock has gone down hill and AGM cardstock is my favourite too 😊

What the hell, the lily on the backs is upside down in the newer one? Was it supposed to be that, that they rectified it or is this a mistake? I still go for Centennial, best version out there

I always seem to go back to my plaid back deck. It is the easiest to read, shuffle, etc.. For decks over 20 years old, those are in great shape. 😊 Not only are the colors more saturated on the left, but the backs have the center flower upside down. Perhaps this is to easily tell which edition one has for collectors. 7 of wands has different colors all over it, even the clothes. Isn't it funny how even a difference in saturation or background gives a different feel, or read? I love the Weiser rws, too, although the cardstock is thicker. Lots of folks hate that deck, but I like the watercolor look. 😅 Thank you for this, I alwars look forward to your videos. ❤🃏🧄🌶😁

The center flower on the backs is flipped on one. Weird.

oh, by the way, i think i'm a year older than you and i refuse to be "ancient" for, at least, another 20-30 years or so! 🤣
