Some years ago my friends back then used to tell me little things, like how my clothes looked old (more adult-like than for younger people), i'm pretty poor so I can't afford a lot of modern clothes and i'm used to wear my mom's old clothes. I felt really bad, and then they also told me about my hairy arms. And then a group of unkown older boys mocked me saying “Give us ur number” and whispering that I was ugly. That hit really hard. I tried really hard not use any clothes that I liked, they looked old to my classmates, I used long sleeves, never showing anything but my face and also bought dark eyeglasses so I wouldn't have to look at people so much and they wouldn't know me enough to think that I was ugly. I didn't talk anymore if not necessary. Now that I think about all of that, probably was one of the reasons why my Anxiety kept rising, and why I had depression since then. I thought it was normal, to feel like that, to fear so much. And then, I met new classmates, they are so really cool. They tried to join me in almost everything even when I refused so much. I started to like a bit my body, feeling more confident, now I use most of my clothes, I even manage to look as cool as I like, old clothes or not. I hugged a couple of my classmates! Even could sit close to them, laugh loud, run. Those silly and normal things that I had never done before. 2 years after that I still have Anxiety and depression, my family issues don't help, but my friends do. Thanks for reading, I wanted to share this. Don't fear yourself, don't think you're disgusting or ugly or whatever, I had learned that we all are special in our own ways, I mean- look at you, did u ever met someone exactly like you? Ahh I love this. I'm usually happy/ok with my body and how I look, but some days are just like this and for some reason everything (eyes, nose, wiggly legs) just trigger me into a crisis about my gremlin existence. Then two days later or something I'm fine again. Rinse and repeat. I think it's important to acknowledge what you feel, but also acknowledge that what you feel isn't always correct or logical, because that's how you can move past feelings like this. This song is very good at all of that, which is why I like it so much.

My hands are extremely soft, or so others say, since I always had them I don't really know. I thought they were ugly, and was self conscious about them like I am with most of my body. When people freaked out and were like "ohmygosh they're so soft!", I realized I was probably exaggerating thinking their ugly, and that the same could be said about a lot of things I'm self conscious about. And sure enough, I was right about a couple of them. What I'm trying to say is that it's really hard to overcome the idea that you're ugly, that you're not good enough. But most of that stuff is just in your mind. We're our worst critics. In the end, others will see the beauty in you, just like you see it in them. We're all just a bunch of insecure beans. So please, try not to torture yourself over it, and one day you'll see your own beauty. Plus beauty stereotypes are pure BS
