I think the added aliens looks pretty cool and don't feel out of place, but it's weird that the special edition seems to have a vendetta against the wolfman.
I think the Wolfman was there because they ran out of effects and had to use Halloween masks. When Lucas says "the way I originally intended " it's actually true in this case.
This Cantina had the freakin' _wolfman_ and _satan_ in attendance! And I'm amazed that Luke wasn't intimidated by those weird aliens who told him how much they "didn't like him". Lol

Yea, it is a great idea. What are Wolfmen doing in Star Wars? Go back to Universal where you belong, Wolfman. It's as if they ran out of money for a creature in that shot so they went to a Halloween store and bought a Wolf mask for $10. Show us unique aliens.
I'm kind of surprised that the blood wasn't removed in the special edition, dvd, or blu ray. It would have been better for continuity if the arm were cauterized (despite the explanations people have come up with about the alien's blood).
@@tezmard3003 Pretty much. But apart from this alien lightsabers always seem to work the same way. Even stranger, the novelization of Star Wars (published just a little bit before the first movie was released) describes the alien's injuries being cauterized even though that's not what happens in the movie.
Lucas, for all of his botching or etc. does seem to get what makes an iconic moment. It seems like a lot of the botches in the special edition at the worst seem like ideas he wanted but just couldn't afford at the time and didn't realize that he can't just add shit to the movies with CGI.
Han still acted in self defence in all versions and some alien that looked like a Halloween custome got replaced by a good looking custome for a alien hippy oh no how bad

To all those complaining about Wolfman getting taken out he’s right here 0:01 he appeared 3 times in the original cut because of budgeting constraints, the Special Edition sensibly took that number down to 1 appearance
I love this scene when Ben Kenobi pulled out his light saber out to cut that guys arm out blu ray Version was fine but to me I prefer as it was the first time.
The point people forget in the “wolfman looks cheap” and “fix the blood; lightsabers cauterize wounds” argument’s is that the original simply shouldn’t be changed. Period. Or if you insist on changing it, the original needs to be available as well.
Well i wouldnt fix the blood as aqualish blood can't cauterize but replacing one of the wolfmen is ok as they look like ok Halloween custome they look like the wampas from the deleted scenes
Did anyone else have issues with the audio on Harmy's Despecialized v2.7? Sounds like it's going through a tin can on my copy. Lots of tinny echoing and noisy. I'm using a Klipsch soundbar that simulates surround...maybe that's the problem.
The Mandalorian should've included a cantina Wolfman, just to be subversive and avenge our furry friend here. I much prefer the original unaltered versions of the films over the horrid special editions, but this particular change doesn't bother me too much. The problem with the wolfman is not how it looks, it's that his face is in a permanent snarling pose and doesn't animate at all

2:46 I guess what they’re trying to do is add some context to C-3PO’s dialogue by showing more stormtrooper units arriving outside of the cantina. But I think it’s just done horribly. They could’ve easily shot some actors in stormtrooper costumes standing at idle in front of a green screen and pasted that in instead of the hilariously bad dewback & CGI trooper.
So...a PG rated film can show a decapitated arm with blood coming out of it. PG...Parental Guidance Suggested. Interesting. And, *The Fog* (1980) shows no blood and gets an R (Restricted) rating. Nice logic...NOT!
So we have a walking carpet in chewy but oh nooooo the wolfman is taking things too far. Disney star wars sucks but lucas was not doing star wars any favors. Its a shame what its become twisted a shell of itself.

Both GOUT and TN1 surpasses Despecialized and BR which surprised me. The blacks are crushed with a major loss of detail in Harmys. 2.10 f.e. Strange descision. Also, the skin tones are way off on both the blu ray and Harmys - and saturation a bit too heavy to make the film look modern
