@@illegalquantity But you wouldn't because an image viewer wouldn't know what to do with the data and a media player wouldn't treat it as an audio file.
5 hours and she’s probably my fav voice from the classic games. (Jonell Elliott did a solid job capturing her charm as well). Also she was only in the first game but her scream carried over to the others lol.
LOL! That was when she found the empty baked beans tin outside of St Francis Folly. That cutscene was SOOOO OK funny however Keeley Hawes who voiced Lara in TR Legend, TR Anniversary and TR Underworld repeated the same line slightly differently in a more sarcastic tone saying "oh Pierre you litter bug" without the tisk in Tomb Raider Anniversary, only because the line was delivered in a different tone to Shelly's delivery on the line, and the fact that the baked bean tin was replaced by some fizzy drinks cans actually made the scene less funny in my opinion!
I'm guessing that's what happens when you look after your body. A lot of people I know that look great into their 50s tend to lead very healthy lifestyles, ie don't smoke, drink, eat clean, watch their weight, exercise etc.
Besides living a healthy lifestyle some people are blessed with genetics that allow them to look younger than their age. Actors Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid) and William Shatner (Star Trek) are some of the best examples of people born with the genetic fountain of youth.
@Brian Winter lmao no she probably confused it with mpeg3/mp3 for audio. back in the 90s you only had analog tape recorders available, at least for the average consumer
@@Dustie1984 thanks, it makes sense now, you solved the mystery, i was thinking how she mixed wav or mp3 with jpeg but as you said probably it was mpeg3.
I can see now why she has not made another voice over job for another Tomb Raider since. "I have been sending jpgs to everyone for voice over work and getting no callbacks. Why do they not call me?" Ummmmm....
I started playing TR2 right after I finished the first one. I was disappointed when I realized they had changed Lara's voice actress. I mean, I like Judith Gibbins' voice, she did a great job. But the voice of the first Lara will forever remain in my heart
I wanted to hear some of her vocal reactions like when she pushes that big cube or hitting herself onto a wall, getting bitten or the "aha" when she picks up something! Those are the iconic lines!
I don't know if it would be a better Lara tone, but I do think it makes for a much better warm conversationalist. I could chat to her for hours, but Lara not so much.
The T Rex in 1 scared us loads as kids, I remember the instant pause and hiding behind the couch with my sister, like genuine fear, it was so good! Best voices of the Tomb Raiders in my opinion, thank you and the team for these classics!
@@Xiox321 we always wanted to progress, the T-Rex made us move more slow throughout the game, I know loads have said already, but the low poly and the older sounds are more creepy and iconic I feel. The team knew what they where doing
in a 2016 retrospective interview Shelley said that she was asked to reprise her role but had to decline due to other commitments. She gave permission for her effort voice work to be reused while the character's dialogue would be voiced by Judith Gibbins.
Guy meets girl in 1996: "So how does a man get you to fancy him?" Girl: "It's hard to say exactly but you seem to be doing fine." And then it goes on from there as both turned out to be fans.
New series is amazing no matter how much you cry about it. Especially Shadow of the Tomb Raider propably my top3 Tomb Raider game now. You need to open your mind for new things.
as a fan of the old games I have to say they are not great Tomb Raider games, but they are great games in there own way. Maybe more Uncharted like. However I think it still fits Lara and I believe the new generation of gamers wouldn't be interested enough to make Tomb Raider as big as it is now. I still wish we would at least get a balance like Legend
@@tomivalkonen1343 New series is a an average action adventure formula game that had been done to death in the PS3 gen by the time the first "new" one came out. There is nothing amazing about it, except maybe the graphics and art design, which Uncharted and many other games have as well. Uncharted beat TR to the punch, doing what it did with modern gameplay and graphics, and TR got revived to cash in on the crowd that liked those games. The first game was beloved because it broke new ground, (which wasn't terribly hard to do in those days as 3D games were new territory), but also because of the top notch voice acting and music score, and lets be honest features a big breasted heroine. The actual gameplay has not aged well at all though. The second was fine, more of the same. The rest of the sequals of the old version were just terrible, tired knockoff cash ins. Tomb Raider is is a game that is living off mostly nostaligia of the first, hence the cash in with mediocre modern iterations. It would have been nice to see them try to remake the dark, isolated, creepy (almost RE horror) style of game the former had instesd of the "Uncharted with crafting" they played it safe with.
@@tomivalkonen1343 no its not you only think of graphics voices and action scenes which are all good sure cause square enix is richer than Eidos was, but Eidos had the gameplay game mechanics and animations down better than Square enix. You need to learn to help us all go back to those cool flips she used to do, wear those sexy ass outfits and fix hard ass puzzles that also bring random animals into scare the shit out of you during your adventure, and make it open world so you can explore secrets all over the place, this is possible now with xbox series X and ps5
@@galaxymaster no way the older ones rocked cause they were harder, you died more often made you a better gamer, you could do cool flips and jumps, wear sexy outfits, and change to loads of weapons as the original lara croft was portrait, the older ones were more about style, game mechanics, soundtrack and puzzle difficulty. The only reason people like the new ones is easy boring puzzles, storyline action scenes and voice overs, it has no cool outfits, it has no cool flips and has no cool puzzles that made you think like the old tomb raiders were all about exploration puzzles and sexy style. Why do you think so many people hate the new tomb raiders? its because of the reasons i just stated. I know this cause i was a long time tomb raider fan, the hype was all about jumping style flips, outfits and exploration in dangerous puzzle filled areas and scare tactics with the bears and animals just jumping at you out of nowhere and they pulled it off so good you didn't know when it would happen, but in the new tomb raiders there's warning signs boring old man outfits, no jump skills what so ever and boring easy shitty puzzles lol oh well its got good movie style action scenes and err good graphics and voices, errr anything else? nope.
It’s because of this women and playing the tomb raider games as a child, on why I have a slight British accent. I’ve lived in south Texas my entire life!!!!! 😂
I asked her about that and she said she was offered the role in the second game, but she was already committed to another project and so couldn't accept.
Hey mam your voice is really an important part of tomb raider series i feel like it was you who was destined to be that voice, Thanks and look forward in future lara games
I played the first game the most and hearing this voice again gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, i remember my disappointment booting up tomb raider 2 the day i got it going into the trainihg level and it wasnt her voice, it was a good sequel but i really missed that voice
I just wish Legend and Anniversary got way more love by the company and community alike. The soundtrack to Legend was phenomenal! It was like pink lemonade in a desert. It was a nice balance of classic and streamlined. A perfect place for beginners.
Tomb Raider Legend is the best written and composed game in the series in my opinion. The script is very sharp and witty and the voice acting is simply phenomenal (though it's done by a different actress, Keeley Hawes)
Is the guy on the far-right related to Simon Callow? NOT Simon Cowell. Callow! He's an accomplished actor in film and stage. He reminds me of him. Hm....
He is Frank Jakeman, He plays Vale Lord in Game of Thrones, episode 6 of Season 8 - the grand finale ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w1pna9eToN4.html
