The kit package (brakes, engine, susp, interior) for the price make these a no-brainer. It did take me a bit to get used to the car but it delivers everything I need. My Porsche is for sale!
What car that year learns your behavior and behaves in a mannered safe way, this car saved my life more than one time for that reason I will not sell mine.
High speed driving in this car is just amazing. Way faster car than most people ever realize, but never anything but calm and tame to drive. I chose this over a BMW, and am not looking to change.
I have owned my S60R for 3 years now.. and coming from a 350 WHP 425 WTQ Subaru STi I knew I wasint getting a car that was gonna keep up but more-so a caR that I could take my family in and still have a TON of fun effortlessly without being looked at by po po cause I am driving a kids speed racer car! Now saying that I will also say that when I bought the car it was stock and yes it was slow to me just because of my previous cars but now... 3 years later, A ARD tune, Exhaust, ARD Billet compressor wheel, ARD 50/50 blow off valve, Intake manifold, Custom intake, Meth injection, High Output coils and plugs and lots of stock parts replaced. THE R IS INSANE! 320 WHP AND MAN ITS SO CLOSE TO THE STi I cant tell the difference. The exhaust sound... INCREDIBLE. The Turbo PERFECT. The ride BAR NONE! This caR is the best choice I could have ever done and with IPD Swaybars and Endlinks the car will drift through any corner you want and in complete control. But do me a favor... dont buy one... lol I like having a unique caR! Especially when I left the STi because of the common aspect. Enjoy :)
Hi Luke, I have to agree with your comment. Another good way to go is to build out a Forester and basically turn it into a WRX. I have a lotta love for S60R's, WRX's, and STi Foresters when they are finely tuned. Peace.
The S60R was my first car and boy was it good (even tho it was an auto, will for sure get a manual one day). I replaced it with a M3 E46 which beats the R everyday in sheer driving joy but in alot of ways (especially the SEATS!) the R is a much better all-day-use-car. If I'd had the money I would get a flashgreen one with the orange interior as a wintercar (live in Sweden).
I disagree with GTS that this car is not great in the snow, I can accelerate coming out of a relatively tight turn and slide it controllably out and away...best fun ever you just need to practise it is unique in how it handles...Volvo is the best Always love watching BMW and mercedes owners struggle in the snow and love it when i get to pull them out of wherever they are stuck....
Anthony DeLuca what are you talking about regular s60 has alots of engine choises but the s60r has just 300hp 2.5liter 5cyl engine with leather interior
