Under the original video, I saw a lot of Turkish comments on 31st March. I asked them, they said that this happened because a random white truck was playing it on a road, and TV showed it.

Funny part is i knew about all of this about 25 years ago. But of course Internet was not available at that time. The Great part is Many of our Great Musicians Including RD, Lata M, Asha B, Anu Malik, Bappi L, all of them made Millions out of these copied songs and very few Indians Knew about it. To be fair, I think the only reason it was done is because in that movie she is married to a Russian Man at that time. I guess it was sort of an Homage. That's an exception everything else is copied.

1:55 dont include this song in this video. It was not stolen, nor was it 'inspired'. The filmmakers gave full credit to the original Russian song because Priyanka's character marries a Russian guy in this film. They even incorporated the original Russian lyrics into it. It was an authorized cover, not an inspired or copied song.

Maybe. But in such cases royalty is paid to the original composer & due credit is given. Such remakes are possible only after taking due authorisation from the copyright owner. If u look at any record/cd the composers name is mentioned for each and every song. There is no such thing as copying abroad. You'll be immediately sued. Kindly also note that when there is a hit song many other artists sing their version of the song but this is done after due authorisation from the copyright holder. Request to all - kindly do not support those who pick other people's brains and talent

Entire movie?? I know the background story was inspired from Hollywood western 'The Magnificent Seven' I also know some scenes were copied from different Hollywood movies. Example.: The train chase of the goons at the beginning is the rip off from 'How the west was won'. The killing of Thakur's grandson by gabbar lifted from 'Once upon a time in the west'. Teaching Basanti how to use the revolver and shoot lifted from 'For a few dollars more'. But entire movie? not sure.

at 03:40 the original should be a Greek song - Opa Opa. The original was released in 1992 by singer Notis Sfakianakis. But maybe most famous version is by the duo Antique, which they released in 1999.
