You know, it really says something when game consoles included two controllers. It was for fun with FRIENDS, thats what makes games :( You could argue that nowadays the friends are across the internet instead of beside you, but I miss the good old days of couch co-op.

It was so simple back then. You plug in your console, hook up your controllers, gather some friends, put in the game, and you play. There were no microtransactions, or packs, or download wait times for games, or anything like that. Nowadays most things are online-based and have a paywall to get the most out of a game. I miss the old days. This makes me want to go out and get an original Xbox, some old games, extra controllers, an old box TV, gather some friends, get some snacks like Mountain Dew and Doritos, and _just play._

I loved how you could put random music cd's in it and download whatever songs you wanted of each one to the console and you could play them during a game vs having the original game music playing. I wish they'd bring that feature back! Lol. It was awesome playing project gothem while jamming to Metallica!

man this was seriously the glory days of the Original Xbox! when Halo 2 released Nov 9th 2004! i had it pre ordered and got Xbox live and have had it ever since! and that changed online console gaming forever! That game was the best online shooter period back in that time period as far as console gaming was concerned! Big Team Battle, Rumble Pit, 4V4, Team Snipers!? totally set the bar!

I have an Xbox one s and looking at this reminds me of how far we've come in technology since the first few video games and consoles that were created. You know, I personally feel that the on the original Xbox, when you first turn it on it starts with this really cool looking nuclear core room, I personally loved that, what I call, "the Xbox start screen".

Who else at that time couldn’t figure out how to set up Xbox live? 🙋‍♂️ Had my parents call Microsoft customer service, they didn’t even know how to explain to us how to set it up 😂 Kept all that stuff in the box 🤷‍♂️

"what?" Lol, how old are you? He's referencing how the original Xbox's "Xbox Live" was discontinued a while back, not Xbox Live in general. It's "still around" but he's referring to the old one. And yes, those were the glory days. Xbox had the best service and now console experience online is shite nowadays. I haven't bought a console since the 360 and PS3. Just stuck to PC since then.

Hahaha, aye, no worries buddy. This WAS a while back so it's funny to think it's already been this long. I will note, however, that it was a legendary start to multiplayer experience. It was a blast back in the day and it's exactly why multiplayer has been revolutionized through things lile Xbox Live (og). Now we've got Steam, Origin, and a ton of different services because of what Microsoft started.

I’m only 10 but I’ve played the original Xbox and still to this day wished it still worked.the only game I was good at was spiderman.And remember the morning I woke up and tried to put it in and it didn’t start I woke my dad up because I was balling my eyes out
