My first bike at 17 as a learner now 67 Mine was metallic green didn't have the bar on handlebars. The hustler was US model with a very thin headlight at the time 33 bhp unheard of in a 250 small ends rattle but easily done My past life thank you so much
Fantastic, trip down memory lane, I passed my tested on mine back in 1977, two days after my 17th Birthday, had the Suzuki AP50 before that, them were the days : )
In 1981 I bought one of these from a pharmacist friend who bought it new in 71 and he just rode it about 75 miles a year just to keep it from going bad and he always kept it in a nice garage. So it was perfect in every way and had about 900 miles on it. I used it for transportation to college and work. I was 21 and just married and I used to take my 18 year old wife around town on it. I am still with her after 42 years but eventually traded the bike. When I think about that bike I regret trading it off. It was a cool six speed. I liked riding that bike almost as much as sleeping with an 18 year old girl every night.
Wow. Identical to my first motorcycle! What a gorgeous motorcycle. Bought mine second hand in near new condition in 1974 - exactly half a century ago! After then owning Yamahas, BMW's and Triumphs, at 69 am now enjoying my 2021 Honda CB500X. Having enjoyed 50 years of joyous motorcycling, I'm hoping for another 10 ... or 15 ... 🦘
Me and all - my very first motorbike - same colour. Bought it in 1973 second hand in absolute mint condition. Absolutely ‘gorgeous’. Thought I was really kewl riding along (on both sealed and bush roads) here in Western Australia with flared trousers and shoulder length hair flapping in the wind. Got pulled over for speeding in Perth and policeman offered to buy it from me - which I declined - he let me off with a warning .... and an envious smile 🤣
Lovely looking bike I'm in the middle of buying a 72 model but there is no frame no. on the head stock only a vin plate with frame & engine no. without the rivet's. What do you think would it be a cosher one Many thanks
*Stripped the the thread of many bores lately?* Most Hustler owners did, when tightening the steel exhaust collar on to the aluminium threat of the bore way back in the late 70s. I don't know if it is true or not, but back then I heard the previous incarnation _[The T20]_ was much faster. I had one Hustler that took a while to get going but could get over a hundred, and another that would get up to eighty a the snap of your finger but go no faster, gearing I guess.
