It's our last day with Manuel and Michael Pinto in Torreon, a small community on the eastern edge of the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. In this video, we go back in time to The Long Walk when the Pintos' ancestors were hidden by local Mexicans in Espanola, New Mexico. When they finally were able to come out of hiding, most of them decided to put down roots in Torreon, and they immediately went to work restoring their traditions. Passing down these traditions is precisely how Manuel came to be a medicine man. Fast forward to the present day, and Manuel continues to share knowledge with younger generations to preserve these sacred traditions. Join me as he shares his advice for how to pray and become your best self.
