@@gmau3945 Probabily is offensive to read this about a saviour. But the same was written about all jews who violated the Law of Moses in a similar way as Jesus. Try to remember, for jews Jesus was only another 'miracle worker' in a country governed by the romans...then, they were killed and persecuted in the name of a person they did not even know...By the way: such a domain was described by people who experienced clinical death. As far as I understand, the Jerusalem Talmud is shorter because it was never completed due to the 4th century persecutions of Gallus and Ursicinus that devastated the small remnant of Jewish presence in Galilee. The surviving sages joined the rabbis in Babylonia and together closed the Babylonian Talmud, which is the 'standard Talmud' so to speak.

Did the Talmud borrow from any other literature or even the mishnah. As being a scholar you must be familiar with historical critical analysis as you mentioned that some scholars are studying Persian to further understand the Talmud I am also interested in how the talmud got from the manuscripts to its current book form

Innocent means someone that doesn´t know, or in legal procedures someone who is not related to some fact, it doesnt mean not guilty. Roman law tends to declare a legal truth, so when theres no proof against the culpirt the judge only states so, and when some new proof appears in favour of the culprit the sentrences goes as the previous facts have vanished. Saint also means to impose a contract or pact (sanction), and has nothing to do with being pure or obedient (comes from roman god Sancus), so res sanctae was appart from public propierty because it was offered to some god.

Why not make a completely vernacular Talmud, which can be comprehended in the world's major languages of English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Greek/Latin(scholar languages)? If there are things in the Talmud, which could cause controversy, then they can be civilly discussed and debated. The Christian Bible has been translated into the vernacular for centuries, which has popularized Christianity. The vernacular translations of the Christian Bible was a result of the reformation. Couldn't Judaism have a similar reformation, though, pray, less violent than the Christian one? Post Script: I don't consider the Soncino edition authoritative enough.

A Dilettante Presumptuous Theorem: May God always bless Rebbe Yisroel Dovid Weiss, Amen. From what I have seen on a number of videos the Ultra-Orthodox do not make their own rules because the Creator GOD gave the Haredim 613 rules for them in the five books of Moses. May GOD continually bless the people of the Haredim over the whole flat earth, Amen. The Haredim Rebbes preach the Word of the Almighty GOD. I love the Haredim people and especially the Haredim Rebbes. They have been following the 613 Laws of Moses for over 3,000 years and will continue with GOD's help. The Haredim Rebbes preach the same Way of Living under GOD that Non-Denominational Bible believing Christians do, who have a personal relationship with GOD.
