Chill. Orinoco Crocodiles are critically endangered with only a few hundred in the wild left at _most_ - it sucks and seems harsh, but with these rangers capturing a group of these eggs would help increase the odds of the species' survivial - and given that there's usually 20-70 eggs in each group that can potentially survive much better into adulthood compared to the MAYBE 1 out of that 70 that will survive (lots of times NONE of them do).

Mother croc guideline: "Kill anything near the nest" Even other crocs don't want to get near a mother croc nest.
@shellzyotube9549
@shellzyotube9549 7 лет назад
One-Soul-a-Time - She didn't put up that much of a fight for her nest, they have very thick skin a stick wouldn't do that much, he ranger even said they would die to protect their nest, did mom croc really think her babies were that much in danger and needed that fierce protection , if she did then why not be more aggressive and attacking, i'm pretty sure mom croc could have done some serious damage to one of those rangers.
@Lov3lyMoon
@Lov3lyMoon 5 лет назад
@@shellzyotube9549 crocodiles are mostly built for water and cant move that well on land unlike a alligator. An alligator has no problem hustling on land, crocodiles struggle more on land. Thats why she put her nest pretty close to the water.
@Weigazod
@Weigazod 5 лет назад
@@shellzyotube9549 It is not that the stick does not do much against her thick skin. Her thought are different from that. Only very calculated animals (human include) will think as you describe. Animals learn most of their knowledge from instinct and real-life experience. They don't deduce logical conclusion as human do. What she saw is a group of 2-leg tall animals approaching her nest. 0:15 She try to scare them away by lunging her body toward them but they did not runaway as suppose. 0:23 When they put the stick toward her, what she saw is not a stick but "they extend their long, stick-like limbs to her". She then proceed to violently attack their "stick-like limbs". 0:49 Usually when she did this, the animals that was attacked by her will scream or show sign of pain or try to back away. Instead they did not back away at all but hold their ground and even push forward. She sense that her attack is useless against these weird looking animals so she has to retreat to the water. 0:54 When she is in the water and the humans appear to relax a bit, she try to approach them slowly to catch them off guard with her ambush. 1:27 She then sit down right next to her nest to press that she is firmed on her stand and trying to lock them in a stalemate. Usually when she does this the other animals will also have to stop and watch out for her too but these humans just does not care. 2:07 She did try to scare the egg stealers many times after that but to no success.

All they care is that they make it into adult hood and that's their job done, they don't meet up once and awhile to talk about stories when they were little. The very few individuals that do reach adulthood are usually poached by humans who won't even consume the animal they hunted, this species isn't "naturally dying out". The world still hasn't fully recovered from the latest mass extinction, so it could be literally millions of years before another species fills the ecological niche in that area. We need to keep endangered species alive to protect our still fragile and recovering environment, not just for *our* sake, but for nature as a whole.

anon Actually, those sensors are not as sensitive as u think, they’re like tiny holes, u can’t get through them that easily.

This is sad, yes, but crocodile mothers go throughout their lives mating and losing young to predators and other crocodiles. Even the babies' own father would eat his young because he doesn't recognise them as his offspring

at 3;02 female crocs get much bigger than 3 to 3.5 metre in Aus and Africa,I personally seen a male and a female at 6 meters long in central Queensland,ocean going following my boat while i did survey in Shoalwater bay
@shinji136
@shinji136 5 лет назад
Roger Dale there's no female crocs growing to 6 meters. Maybe there would be some outliers at 4 meters for salties, but 6 meters only goes for males.
