As an O’s fan I haven’t talked to a single Orioles fan that wants the wall moved back to the original location. Clearly isn’t hurting the O’s cus we lead the league in homers.
I love the wall. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing renovation, but it's been great for the teams success. I was tired of watching every single fly ball to left field be an automatic homer. I'm hoping they find a way to make it look better though. Ownership did say there are plans to make quite a few renovations in the next few years.
I'm a Yankee fan who watches most of their games on YES. Whenever there is a ball that just makes it over the wall or a deep fly that does NOT make it out of a larger ballpark, it's a standard comment by Kay (as well as Cone) to make note of how many MLB parks where it would or would not have been a HR. They do it ALL the time, regardless of whether it's hit by a Yankee or the other team. No one was complaining. Kay was just stating a fact.
I love that they moved the left field wall back, I wish they would put the right field scoreboard on the left field wall now and make the right field wall a brick wall 🧱 , that would look cool with the brick warehouse behind it.

@@aers8127 they have a lot. They adjusted the dimensions to fit their team. Their righties have no issues hitting it over the wall though. Mountcastle hits absolute nukes. Santander and Adley are switch hitters, but both easily clear the left field wall when they get ahold of one.
This is just stupid. There was no place to pitch to with the previous dimensions. The large left field and the smaller right field end up making the park a pretty neutral place to play. It used to be that a 365 foot fly ball would be a home run. Now, it's probably an out. It's really not that different from old Yankee Stadium, actually.
That isn’t the point. First of all, Kay makes that comment about HR’s in ballparks all the time, the Orioles aren’t special. Second, Yankee Stadium more than makes up for it by having LCF at 390 ft and always measures out as in the middle of the pack by stadium metrics. 3rd, he (or one of our color guys) will absolutely make the comment that it is a “Yankee Stadium HR” when it does happen. I’ve been watching Kay for decades now
@@Realdrlipschitz He's complaining about another stadiums dimensions while right field in Yankee stadium is like 50 ft from home plate. That's what I heard. I'm sorry you have to listen to him call baseball everyday, that must be a chore.

I literally just said he tells you the amount of ballparks a particular home run would have gone out of if it’s relevant, it isn’t a special thing with the Orioles. Btw, YS is not even a hitters park so that bargain bin comment about RF is tiring.
